Hit and Run =[
Woke up this morning to find this Of course there was no note.
Somehow they managed to hit the rim, front fender, mirror, front door, AND the back door!
Sorry for the bad pictures. The reflection and the snow make it a little hard to see.

that is horrible. sorry about your car. take lots of pics. hope your insurance takes care of you. (sigh). what is wrong with people? that's a few thousand or so in damages...assuming its all body and paint work.
lots of AZ acuras in shops right now. including mine (mine was victim of "mayhem"--> mother nature, stupid branch). find a good shop and make sure they know what your expectations are. good luck!

Thanks guys. I filed an insurance claim today and I'm going to get it appraised later this week. We'll see what happens.
I was actually parked in a parking lot at my apartment complex. Unfortunately, there are no cameras in the parking lot either. Been trying to keep my eye out to see if I can find another car that has any matching damage.
Another thing to note is if you look at the way the snow fell on to the side view mirror, it appears that this happened prior to the snowfall. The mirror must of been bent back for the snow to fall in to that position. Otherwise, the snow that's in between the mirror and the car would of fell off. So it seems unlikely that this was weather related. Besides, there was only about an inch or two of snow.

Aww man...when I think of walking up to my car & seeing that...it's like that feeling you get just after the roller coaster crests at the top of the hill & gains momentum very quickly.
So sorry to see that, people suck.

man...thats terrible. Since it was in your complex parking lot, at least you can keep an eye out for cars with matching damage like you said. If they live there then you'll find them sooner or later, and if they were just visiting hopefully they'll be back. Good luck with everything.

I know the feeling. Left my car in chinatown one time...parked behind a hydrant...i come back and the front passenger bumper/fender/headlight is a little scraped up. I'm like "seriously? you couldn't fucking drive into a hydrant spot without hitting my car??" of course...no note. UGH

+1 glad YOU were not hurt. I know you weren't in the car but still... Maybe it's just wishful thinking to hope that whoever hit you spilled the cup of acid they were holding all over their crotch...
Nobody travels with acid anymore... (I blame society...)
Anyway, for as lame as the joke is I am actually pretty sure that that will "buff out", hopefully your insurance company is willing to let you take it to a place where the workers have teeth!
Good luck!

The plow trucks here never plow the parking spots, only the driving areas. Also, there was clearly a car parked next to me as there was a rectangular area with no snow on it in the next spot. You can see this in the reflections on some of the pictures.
When I spoke with my insurance, I checked to see if I could use the uninsured motorist coverage for this but was denied. They said this would not apply as the person responsible could not be identified. I couldn't use my comprehensive coverage either so I had to use my collision coverage deductible.

its no fault on your part, so your premium won't/shouldn't go up. so don't stress about, just let the insurance do their thing and get your car fixed.
yeah it sucks you have to pay your deductible. at least you don't have to pay two at the same time for two different claims, even though the damage was somewhat related. (ie...tree branch, then the tow truck guy/company messing up the front bumper getting your car to the shop to get the origianl damage repaired.).
this is why we have insurance...we hope that we dont' have to use it, but when we do, at least the car will be fixed and most of the expense will be covered.

Thanks.
I did some detective work and found this vehicle in the parking lot. The damages match up perfectly. There's even a dent in the fender where it would of hit my mirror. Reported this to the police and they are going to investigate. They provided me with the vehicle, owner, and insurance information which I have forwarded to my insurance company. We'll see what happens...

nice job OP. now how in the world did that person hit you with the rear passenger end of their car? you were parked nose in and they backed into the space on your passenger side?? hope that's the right person....and hope they have insurance.
let the police and your insurance handle it ....things will work out. worst case scenario your car gets fixed by your insurance.

It's really sad to see these things happening! I do feel for you cause I've experienced hit and run situation before. I was lucky that my insurance policy does not require me to pay any deductible for hit and run incidents if I report to the police within 24 hours, which I did last time.

If that is the person who backed into your car, I will hope their damn camry burns in hell! I was involved in a hit and run outside of a restaurant as a moron in his camry backed up into my left rear door and took off, while also running into the parking gate as he left. I couldn't get the license, but looked EVERYWHERE for a camry with similar damages. I HATE THE CAMRY, and unbelievably dislike people who buy Camries...you can tell they don't know jack shit about cars, and could care less about the because of the damages you see on them. Now, if I see a camry, I steer far away!
Good luck with everything, and I hope the culprit gets the max penalty. Make 'em pay for me too

Ya, Camrys suck! I'll do what I can iggibar.
My car was pulled in nose first and they must have hit it when backing in or pulling out and turning the wheel to early.
I Google'd the person's name and found some interesting information. They were arrested just three months ago for DUI...

Back on topic, this thread is exciting. I'm liking the detective work. I hope he gets whats coming. You should leave a note on his windshield that says "I know what you did". Or how about "CONFESS" on his rear windshield with window chalk.

yea, he'll slash your tires, etc if he finds out you had a hand in this...make sure you tell the police that you don't wanna be mentioned as part of the investigative process and have them take full credit for figuring it out.
