Haze on inner headlight?

Anyone has weird haze forming on inner part of the headlight?

It is particularly visible where the low-beam hid is projecting.

Looks like a stain/ or condensation. Couldn't remove it with microfiber cloth. Any ideas?

Pictures would help, I had similar issues but it was the outside oxidizing, it looked like it was from the inside initially.

Yes, I have the same issue with my headlights. They are also hazy on the inside.

Ever have a front end bump or something that could have cracked the housing to let condensation in?

Get a little bit of water in there and the heat of the lights will cook it off but leave a slight residue from the minerals and stuff in the water. Over time it'll haze.

Excuse my vapor marks, it was raining in Vancouver. Those are outside, nothing to worry about.

Alright heres some better photo of the haze. Notice the glare produced on the left headlight by haze. Any idea what can remove that haze? Rubbing alcohol perhaps?

That looks like normal wear from daily driving. Keep on mind small rocks and stones and sand etc are kicked up everyday when on the road and the highway. Over time the uv coating on the headlights will get worn away from the tiny rock chips. You can try a headlight restore kit like meguires but I'm not sure if that polishes away the remaining coating. You will most likely have to keep reapplying it to remove oxidation.

Mine ate worse than yours but they aren't to the point where they are cloudy yellow. If they get to that point I will use a restore kit depending on when this is and if I still own the car.

Your Headlights look to be in pretty good shape. Just keep them clean with soap and water.

My 2009 headlights also have minimal haze on the inside. I just figure it's normal for a 7+ year old car.

Not rubbing alcohol.

That's very hard on many plastics, like computer screens, keyboards, etc. I don't know about the inside of the headlights.

We have a lot of it around here, and people assume its a universal cleaner. Not always the case.

I've read tooth paste can polish the lens, but the haze comes back within a few months. For a longer term fix, 3M makes a lens polishing kit. FYI, I have no experience with either; just something I read.

Toothpaste is essentially a very fine abrasive. What you're doing is basically just a super fine grit polish by applying toothpaste and buffing it off.

That's also the same general process used with the headlight repair kits except they'll have multiple, gradual, steps of increasing grit abrasion.

I've never had tremendous success with any of the above. The Meguiars kit I've used did an okay job at repairing some faded lenses initially, but they still remained a bit yellow and still hazy. Not optically clear like OEM.

Better than nothing I suppose.
