Grille Conversion: 2012 to 2009-2010

I'm planning on converting the grille on my 2012 Sport Wagon to the 2009-2010 grille so that I can install the Aero/Modulo bumper. Before I start buying parts, I just wanted to see if anyone on here had done it, and exactly which parts I need; don't want to purchase parts I don't need.

So here's the diagram for the 2009-2010 grille:

For major parts, I know I'll need parts 1, 2, 3, and 5. The parts that comprise the entire assembly #14 all have different part numbers from their 2012 counterparts, so I assume they're different and I'll need to purchase those too, but does anyone know for sure?

I might try that, since these things are crazy expensive brand new. If I were to purchase every part in the diagram, it'd cost as much as the aero bumper itself.

I've never purchased parts off a totaled vehicle before. Would I just go junkyard hunting?

I've done it before. You need a complete
Grille. And the new bumper and fogs

Wouldn't you need to mill your bumper to fit the 09-10 grill. For 11'+ the grill was made smaller, adding the extra painted plastic between the lights and the grill. all the power to you.

plus you need a few pieces that go behind the bumper

the vent pieces behind the fogs, the air diffuser behind the mesh and the under rubber thing

Hmm...might be more than I want to do. The other thing I was thinking about doing was just getting the JDP carbon fiber lip and modding it to fit around the 12's fog lights.

I have all the parts to do it
I just dont know which way to go

Honestly I like the look of the smaller grille
they should have made a 2011//12/13 version of the modulo

After looking at the older grille some more, I like the larger grille, especially with the Modulo bumper; to me, it looks more aggressive. I do wish they made an aero bumper for the current model.

What're you planning to do with your parts? If you decide to part with them, maybe we could make some kind of deal or exchange with my bumper, if you still need one.

When I bought my 11, I took it apart and put an 09 bumper on it.
So I had to buy the fogs, all the bumper parts and a euro grille.

Then I found an 11 euro grille in Australia, so I had my wife's cousin fill in the license plate holes and blend the bumper for me. Problem is when they put the 3m film on it, the clear lifted in one spot...So since I'm anal like that, I have 2 options

1. Buy a modulo and use all the parts I have and put on the 09 acura grille that I just made. Just need to buy one fog because I cracked one.

2. keep looking for an 11 pwp bumper in great shape, which seems impossible at this point. I guess if someone had one looking to put a modulo on there, It could work

here you can see the vents next to the fogs, the lower diffuser panel, also there's a thin panel in front of that lower diffuser that attaches to the mesh

and you need that thin rubber strip that goes under the bumper

the idea was for any1 to swap the parts from regular bumper, to sport. They never thought of the 11/12/13 though

I think I'm going to order the modulo tomorrow
It seems there's enough interest that I shouldn't have a problem selling it,
if I can get my 2011 theme going again

i think the only way you can buy a new 2011 would have to have it painted. all the dealers i have seen dont have part# for specific color codes. its just one parT# for the 2011 bumper. and YES you would have no problem selling it im sure

just putting it out there
I may sell my car and get a 2013

If so, I'll sell all the parts for the bumper conversion
you will need to buy one fog though + grille

That sounds pretty fair. You're keeping the grille?
