Google Maps/Audio Sound

I tried searching and really couldn't find an answer....

Whenever I use Google Maps, I can't hear the voice talking from my phone. My device is connected via bluetooth, but I can't hear the turn by turn directions... it doesn't come through the speakers in the car or the speakers on the phone. I also don't hear my phone when I receive messages. Does anyone know how to hear the audio???

1st things 1st.... are you on the AUX option of your radio? if not, you will not hear any music, voices, phonecalls, or sounds of any sort.....

OP, I think the issue is that you need to switch to BT Audio via the Aux button at the far right.

thanks folks... so I guess that means I can't listen to XM at the same time??? On my previous car, it would turn down the audio from the XM and I could still listen to my XM too...

Nope, one or the other, and the XM quality sucks compared to live streaming pandora or music from your phone

yea, i stream music via bluetooth while getting google map directions. whenever I need to listen to a direction, the volume on music goes down and I hear what I need to do. That said, if you make a mistake, i feel like a standard gps is much more reliable in terms of providing direction.

Here's what you need to do:
Your phone is connected via Bluetooth. If you're listening to any other audio source than BT, your nav commands will NOT come over your car stereo. However, since you've got your phone linked, they won't come out of your phone's speaker, either. So, you have to go into your BT manager on your phone once you're connected, and you should see that you have 2 things checked: BT hands free and streaming audio. What you want to do is UNCHECK the streaming audio. Doing this will let you still listen to your non-BT audio source, you'll still get phone calls over your stereo system, and your phone will now speak the nav prompts to you.

That's how I had to do it with my Galaxy S2.
