Glove box removal 2011 tsx
Glove box removal 2011 tsx
Can someone tell me how to remove the glove box on a 2011 tsx? I recently had the passenger side air bag changed due to a recall. After that change I developed a rattle coming from around the dash/glovebox area where I imagine the air bag is located. I brought it back to the dealer and they said tech had to tighten some bolts and that should solve the issue.. I drove it for a week and rattle came back... I noticed when the weather was cold I did not hear the rattle but as it got warmer the rattle would return.. I’m guessing the tech broke something plastic and when the weather is warm the plastic expands and makes the noise... it’s driving me crazy. I did bring the it to the dealer for a second time and this time they said it was missing a bolt which I know is BS... needless to say the noise returned after a few days/weeks and because this was last fall the weather started to get colder so the noise kind of went away for the winter.. it’s been rattling all summer and before it gets cold I thought if I could expose where the airbag is and drive it to feel where the noise is I probably could fix this myself by wedging something in the area that’s rattling. Can’t bring it back to the dealer it’s been to long since the air bag replacement. I don’t want to start yanking things because I believe I need to remove a lot of plastic trim to expose the air bag... any tips, guidance or video’s would be appreciated.
I haven't had to do this, so not much help. But i had the exact opposite situation. Mine used to have a really annoying rattle in cold weather (not in warm). It was the little trim strip above the glove box that was making the noise. I tried jamming small pieces of paper/cardboard in there behind it with limited success that wouldn't last. When I had the airbag recall done, the rattle magically disappeared! Haven't heard it again since! So yeah, I think it should be addressed by the dealer.
