Getting these new member formalities out of the way.

Okay, so I poked around this site quite a bit before buying my wagon and decided to join. And in order to jump the 15 day / 5 post wicket, here's this:

My name is Joe and this is my 2014 Wagon w/ Tech Package, Forged Silver Metallic

Parked in the driveway after the trip home from the dealer. I've always been a Toyota guy (still am) but the wife's 2003 Accord proved to be such a solid little car that when it came time to replace my truck, I figured why the heck not get another Accord!

Would have loved it if I could have gotten a manual transmission and/or a V6 and especially if it was RWD. But the wagon front is pretty slim in the US and I can't argue with the Honda reliability, so here we are...

Of course, Honda/Acura went out of their way to totally crap up a perfectly good design by including that hideous (IMO) beak. So first thing up was to peruse some options from ɹǝpun uʍop. Thank you, some random person in Australia for getting hit by a wallaby or a drop bear or something and wrecking your car. Their pain was my gain!

So a couple hours of sweating in the morning heat and the proboscis rhinoplasty was a success!

The clips underneath the headlights almost beat me but I emerged victorious at the end.

And the final bit of the initial saga is to complete the transformation at the rear of the vehicle because this simply won't do:

Soon to be debadged and Honda-fied.

A few other miscellaneous catch-up items in the near term are swapping out the "A" logo wheel caps with some "H" caps, doing some touch-up on the engine with the correct Honda parts, and some desperately needed tint.

Thanks for tuning in.

Welcome to the forums! Your wagon looks beautiful, and most of us here would agree that the beak is in fact "hideous". Nice upgrade to the Honda grille

I wanna also add that your vocabulary and general sense of humour is amazing (hint: proboscis rhinoplasty).

Looking good. I want the honda grille so bad but at around $400 it isn't worth it to me.

Where in Texas are you?

I do like it.

I prefer the 09 front end with the black around the fogs... and the manual.

But other than that, she looks pretty good.

Sharp!
Am i in the minority? I dont think the front beak is hideous (own a 2012 wagon). But the honda one does look a bit cleaner.
After 50k i'm still mostly loving mine.
Great road manners. Enough tech and lux to keep me satisfied. Great hwy mileage.
Biggest gripes
1.Butt hurts after drives exceeding 200 miles
2.Every once in a while i wish it had more oomph.
3.Tight leg room in back seat.
4.No spare
But its paid for and i can see me putting another 100k on it.

Got my wagon in April, have yet to see another, or any other wagon. The beak doesn't bother me as I don't see it when I drive. Still I'm thinking of painting or wrapping to dull it down.

Hi guys, thanks for all the welcomes! It's nice to be here; the sticky info has been informative and helpful so far. Hopefully I can contribute a bit over the years as well.

I mean, I could have lived with the beak but figured I'd change over when the opportunity presented itself. Luckily it presented itself fairly early.

And I'll tell my mom about your compliment of my vocab and humour. She's always trying to get me to write a book because she thinks I have "talent". But she also thinks I'm "handsome" so I know her opinion is a bit biased!

Yeah, it was a bit tough to stomach, but A) I paid in kangaroo hides and the exchange rate was a little in my favour that day, and B) the wife despised the beak even more than I did so it passed that test very easily!

I'm in the mean streets of H-Town. Well, more like the soft streets with nicely manicured lawns of the 'burbs of Houston, but it sounds better the first way.

Thanks. That would be stellar but I'm sure there are much nicer rides. I'm honoured you'd say so though.

I've been pretty anti-chrome in the past. Most of my vehicles have been debadged and had all the chrome blacked out but the silver of this one makes me not entirely hate the chrome accents. I keep looking at the fog lights and thinking about if I need to black it out or keep it silver. For now it stays, but perhaps down the road.

I knew it would change things but didn't realize how much until I installed the "H" grille. I keep seeing it in the driveway and thinking about how well it all flows together. Can't quite put my finger on it but there is something about the Acura grille that just looked awkward.

Same on keeping it for a while too. The next time I buy a car we should have flying ones!

I hardly ever saw any TSX wagons before I got this one. Now I've seen 2 others; which, given production numbers, must be about 50% of the ones in Texas. I tried to convince myself of the same thing but seeing *that* nose every time I walked up to the car at work, or coming home after a jog, or even catching a glimpse of it in the chrome tailgate of a truck... Ugh.

Well shoot. I've babbled on like a schoolgirl that just made besties at sleepaway camp so I'm gonna cut out now and go do something manly. Like spit and lift heavy objects or something.
