Ok, I know in the past there have been threads about people changing the bulbs in their foglights. I am looking for some opinions on which bulbs I should upgrade to. I didn't realize how bad they looked, until I had another 09 TSX (Grigio, just like mine) driving next to me. Looks like my car did when I bought it (before tint, lip spoiler, painted grill, sport front bumper), and the foglights look horrible! Help me!

look for H11 bulbs in whatever color you prefer.
in fact, check ebay. H11 bulbs are pretty cheap there.
that or look for a h11 HID kit.

Can someone clarify something for me?

The H11 LED fog light replacements are a simply plug and play replacement...similar to replacing a halogen bulb, correct? There isn't any extra wiring/transformers/etc needed?

The HID replacements do require new wiring and/or transformers, correct?

I'm interested in the LED's if they are plug and play and off the same light output.

I would also appreciate it if someone can clarify these questions about LED foglights.

yes, led is plug n play.

hid requires extra wiring/ballasts/installation.

would HIDs be better than plug-in-play nokyas?
are the nokyas good quality? do they get really hot?

Unless you have HID's..I truly believe that fog lights only serve for aesthetic appeal. They really dont help with your visibility no matter what brand bulb you get or temperature.

Aftermarket halogen bulbs look great and are very affordable.
HID's look even better and increase visibility but can cost up to $600 (phillips brand). I have halogen bulbs right now but I will get HID's for them later on.

hid's are the best by far. they run much cooler than regular bulbs and give off much more light.

HIDs in the fog light housing will cause more glare to oncoming traffic than the stock HID in the driving light housing. HIDs will also be less useful in real foggy situations if the fog lights are aimed too high or too much glare, go figure. This only benefits are in the looks department, and that it runs cooler.

I'm pretty happy with my low beams, not going to change them til they go bad. "knock on wood".
my upcoming mod is probably some kind of coilover, but that'll have to wait til summer, i'm dead broke right now, haha.

One more newbie question - what color temperature are the stock low beams? I don't like the yellow tint of the stock high beams and fogs. My local auto parts stores stock Sylvania's but I'm not sure which temperature to get.

I just want a simple white light. I don't need it to be any brighter than stock but don't want it to be dimmer. From what I have read on other threads, the LED's are nice but they are dimmer and more for looks.

The stock low beams are around 4300k if I remember correctly. The 5000k HID fog lights I put in my car are much whiter than the stock low beams.

If you want a pure white, try the Sylvania silverstars or silverstar ultra.

Pure white on the SS's, slight blue on the SSU's.

I had Eurolite and one of the bulbs burned out. They were garbage.

I had nokyan and one of the bulbs burned out. Some people are running them without problems.

I now have amber Piaa HID BULBS which I got from Acura of Lynwood when I was there.

I know, don't touch the bulbs, make sure you don't bump them against the fog light housing etc. I am very creful with bulbs, if you even swear at the damn things they burn out.

So far so good with the Piaa's and I like the way the look the best.

Yup, I love my PIAAs. Mine are not HID, though. They're "plasma ion yellow". Shameless plug:

Hey CU2MIKE, is that the H11 3000K Automobile Xenon HID Conversion Kit from HIDExtra? I really like how it looks on the Grigio and am considering buying it myself!
