Honda Releases Sport Pack for New Euro Accord
Posted on Tuesday 8 April 2008
Only a month after the official reveal of the new Accord Euro (Acura TSX) Honda has unveiled a new Sport Pack designed for both the sedan and Tourer wagon models. The new kit includes custom bumpers front and rear, a set of sporty side sills, a blacked-out grille, a discrete bootlid spoiler, integrated fog lights and new 18in alloy wheels.
The interior also gets several new appointments including a titanium finish on some of the dash elements and leather trim on the seats, steering wheel and gearstick. Other features include an optional satnav system, USB port for iPod connectivity and a power operated tailgate in the Tourer model.
The car’s mechanicals have been left untouched, which means 2.0L and 2.4L petrol engines or a new i-DTEC 2.2L clean-diesel. All three engines get a six-speed manual transmission as standard while the two petrol units get an optional five-speed automatic with steering wheel shift paddles.

Although a full bumper replacement will likely be more expensive, I think it flows better than a tacked-on kit. Will have to see the US version in person before I say whether or not I like it, though.
Oh, and what a PITA those sedan wheels would be to clean! Yikes.

Now those are some nice looking rims. Anyone think that if they come out with something like this in the US, they'll also have a different grill too? Maybe a last ditch effort to try and revise their horrid styling.

i hope we get the optional Tourer's grille with the "A"!! a hell lot better then the cheese cutter grille! rims are OK, looks better then the 09 TSX rims - but i rather pick aftermarket.

Why not keep the grill? You can park the 09 TSX in the lawn during your outside BBQ dinner party, and serve up some fresh cut asiago cheese and wine!
Thats probably the only way Acura is going to attract "Yuppies" to the 09 TSX = as 3000 LBS cheese cutter.

i like the wheels and i like the spoiler...can't say i like anything else. the front looks like a remix of the 06+ front lip which I always thought to be hideous.

I don't like the Sport package, cause I don't even like the 09 TSX.
The first rims is rice, looks like those Konig rims??? And why does the sport package does not include lower suspension like A-Spec?

damn.
if the TSX looked like that stock I'd have to consider it.
I still hate the new interior none the less. Enough to even make it a deal breaker.
But that Euro is real nice. I like the bumper sensors for some reason...
Good overall package, nicely done, should sell great.
Now, the TSX....
I see a huge, massive JDM conversion wave on the 2nd gen TSX.
That'll be on the top of everyone's list of mods for the 2nd gen, no doubt.

Be nice if you could swap out the knights of the round table grille for the JDM grille

Ok, I've been staring at the pic of the White Accord for a week now, and I have a confession to make........ I really like it!! I hope it looks as good in person and Acura offers a grill to replace the OEM one similar to the Accord grill.

Am I the only one wondering why they can't integrate the sensors in little black pods in the 'black areas' of the grill vs. the current 'warts' on the bumper surface?
#35
^ I agree! I special-ordered my Lexus simply because I couldn't find a model equipped as I liked without the ugly parking assist sensors. They serve a great purpose, but they look so cheap and stand out like a sore thumb on most vehicles I've seen them on.

i don't understand why you even need parking sensors, if you can't park a TSX, you shouldn't be driving. anyway, even if you park it neatly, some urban asshole will screw up and still scratch your bumpers. /rant off

If you mean dealer installed accessories, I agree. If you mean factory installed options then I think Acura is on the right path. Remember that in Europe, there is no TL. The next step up is the Honda Legend (our RL). It makes sense that the Euro Accord would have things that are reserved for the TL in the US.

Good point. Nonetheless, TSX buyers should have access to adaptive cruise control, auto on/off headlights & wipers, and headlight washers. IMO, engine options & the car's size should distinguish the two models.
