Smile Euro Accord vs TSX differences

All the TSX info on here is taken from the Acura website. If it's wrong then please let me know.

I thought I'd compile a list of little differences between the Acura TSX and the same car here in the UK the Honda Accord.

These are based on the Sedan, but we also have the Tourer here.

1. Exterior

a) TSX gets 2 reversing lights, Accord gets 1, other side is fog light
b) Grille is completely different

2. Interior

a) TSX gets matte finish to centre console, door switch plates etc. Accord EX Grades get dark wood finish with gloss.

3. Functionality

1) TPMS - Not in UK, not law yet
2) XM - Not here, we have DAB which is free but not in many cars
3) Live weather - Not needed here, its either wet, cold, or wet and cold!
4) 4 way passenger seat - 8 way
5) Powerfold door mirrors in UK and heated
6) No memory key in UK but we do have memory driver seat on EX grade
7) Open windows and roof from key - We can also close from key
8) No interior ultrasonic alarm is TSX? We have this plus switch to turn off
9) TSX Matte black finish - Gloss wood finish in UK
10) TSX gets 4 yr 50k mile warranty - UK gets 3 yr 90k mile
11) UK gets 5 yr muffler warranty
12) UK gets auto headlights and wipers
13) TSX gets HID Lights, only availabe here on GT models or part of $3k option pack which includes Lane Keep Assist, CMBS and Adaptive Cruise
14) We get 10 speaker ELS as standard on EX Grade
15) TSX gets customizable headlight delay etc, we don't
16) TSX only gets option of rear sensors, Accord has front and rear as standard on EX
17) We get 3 engines, 2.0 & 2.4 petrol and 2.2 diesel, all with either auto or 6 speed manual
18) Accord gets A/C Centre console and Glovebox, not sure about TSX
19) Accord 2.4 gets better fuel economy than TSX, and diesel gets 45mpg all day long and is quicker than 2.4

If anyone wants to add or amend this list let me know, just think it's interesting.

I meant to say we can remote close all windows and roof from remote, it does look nice in the Red, I think most of the colours are the same just named differently?

I really doubt the euro 2.4 gets better economy than the TSX. The euro economy test is different and the same cars tend to get better numbers when measured on the euro cycle than on the US cycle. Plus brit numbers use imperial gallons when calculating mpgs which makes the number seem higher too.

Wish we had milano red here in the 2G TSX... sigh...

Interesting list, but the above is not possible. You are talking about a car that is exactly the same with the exact same engine. The fuel economy is exactly the same. I'm sure the testing standards between countries may be different however...

Are there any differences between the two regarding the steering?

I have been reading some UK articles and reviews of the Euro Honda, and they seem to generally like the steering noting that it would be a good alternative to a BMW and Audi. In contrast, the reviews of the TSX, especially its steering feel, are not so flattering.

Another thing only North America gets the ELS sound system. You get the standard premium system found on the base American TSX, with two extra speakers in the rear door panels, not the 415 watt ELS system with DVD-audio and Dolby Pro Logic II and tuned by Elliot Scheiner. That's a specific audio system that is North America only. You can read about ELS here: http://www.panasonic.com/ELS_Surround/tsx.asp

True, but US fuel is a lower quality the here in the UK, so the car does NOT get the same mileage, all us equivalent cars get worse mileage than their european couterparts, mind you, you guys aren't paying $6.50 a gallon!

This is the first time I've ever heard of "higher quality fuel in the UK." Mind you I am from London (EC1N) now living in Chicago. I know that the standards specifically for sulfur in **diesel** are higher in Europe, but that has nothing to do with mileage and everything to do with emissions. Petrol is a total wash. Premium unleaded in Chicago is North American octane 93 which is 98 RON, the same standard as premium in the UK. And Sunoco stations in the US have 100 North American octane, which is 105 RON.
