End is near for TSX
Sadly 2014 is likely the last year for the TSX. TLX will be the next TL and probably lot more costlier than TSX to set it apart from ILX. ILX is priced way to close to TSX. Even tho it has more gadgets then TSX it is not that refined of a car.

There is an actual link to the the test Mule. I haven't seen that posted before. But if this is true, my TSX might be the last Acura and will be turned in at the end of the lease. ILX is too small for the money and TLX will likely be close to $40K with good options.

i don't know I should be happy or sad about that. Well, i guess it will depend on how the market will look at the TSX's resale value. Will it replicate what that did to the RSX? Here's to hoping. well, not too much.

Either way I hope the TLX is as successful as the 3G TL. The TSX has been successful as well. I was reading some of the comments at the end of the article and yes, Acura has gotten away from its roots over the years, the company still produced great vehicles. Sales prove it. Off the top of my head the MDX was a hit and still is, the 3G TL, 1G TSX and even the 2G TSX. RL/RLX isn't a strong suiter, but already the RLX is selling better than the previous generation RL last time I checked. As for the ZDX... yeah let's not go there.
Maybe in a few years the company will get back to its roots and inject some more sportiness into their vehicles yet retain the same luxury value. If they could bring some of the 3G styling back for th TLX and include some nice trims (more standard equipment) they may have a hit. Ironically the 4G and 3G headlights are similar in a design sense. I'm just waiting for the TLX to be revealed, then I'll make a final judgment.
Back on topic I love how the TSX looks. I remember when the 2G debuted and I didn't car too much for it, but it has really grown on me, especially in person. It's a very nice looking car. I'm glad they'll be a 2014 MY.

The TSX trumps most with exception of maybe the Optima - although the Optima didn't feel as refined as the TSX. But the TSX does lack some doo dads like better/more internet connectivity (I've got a smart phone so no loss there) or the intrusive safety stuff like the lane guidance (which I'd turn off anyways - though the extra camera on the Accord was cool).

Acura vehicles (especially the TSX) can be a great value. A 4 cyl TSX w/ tech can be had for 32.5k + tax. It's a lot of car for your money. Good luck finding a BMW, Lexus, Audi, etc. for that price with that level of equipment. That leaves the Camry, Optima, Accord, Fusion, etc. as competition with a low 30k budget.

Too early to tell how Acura will place the TLX. They know they have to make traditional TSX customers happy in addition to TL customers. So they may offer a version with the Accord DI 4cyl up the a V6 with SH-AWD. They can't expect to go from the ILX straight to a TL level, that is too big of a gap. If they don't close that gap down they will lose too many sales.

Honda is known to keep a tight-lip about things. And it's not as rare as you think for a manufacturer to keep a model in production 6+ years (i.e. Nissan Titan/Frontier). Acura's own 1G MDX went 6 years (2001-06) and 7 years for the 2G (2007-13). There are more examples I'm sure. These are the one's that came to mind. I'm pretty sure the TSX and TL will go on for another model year.
If history serves us right first you'll read/hear about a new model, next you'll see spy shots of a model, then you'll see it unveiled at a major auto show (probably this winter), finally there'll be the sale date (thinking spring/summer). I've noticed it's usually a year, year and a half for all of this. So I expect the TLX to be on sale probably the summer of next year as a 2015 model. Sort of like how the 2014 MDX (3G) went on sale in June of this year.

I agree. The TSX and TL both have Special Edition models out right now and knowing Honda/Acura, that means the model is on its way out and I am guessing 2014 will be the last model year and they will squeeze what they can out of them on their way out. I think Acura is going to take a little extra time with the TLX and rightfully so, as they have had a lot of missteps over the years.

The problem there is... if there's going to be a new TSX or new TL, there should be spy photos leaking by this time... but so far none. BUT there's spy photos of "supposedly" a TLX. They could however offer the same model for 2014... but that's not quite normal... it's very rare that a car company stretch a generation for 6 years. it's usually 5 years. and for the 2nd gen TSX, 2013 is it's 5th year... meaning, either it's done or there's a 3rd gen. But where are the spy shots? It's almost september. 2014 is right around the corner.

No that's correct in terms of math. But when it comes to years of cars you have to include the 1st yr as well. I've done that same exact thing before.
Did you know the current generation of the Nissan Frontier has been out since 05 and the Titan since 2004 and will be here for 2014? That's 10 and 11 year model years! Ok back on topic now.

A few months ago my Acura salesman/friend told me they had product codes for a 2014 TSX. Last week he told me those codes were removed from their system - what does it mean? Well, they ride a year with no new TSX, although frankly as the 13 is identical to my 12, how much does it matter - although it's lame to sell 2013s for 2 years. Or, will they discontinue and just sell the ILX, TL, and RLX on the car side and bring out the TLX in the fall of 2014. It's a mystery!!

My acura dealer told me the TSX and TL are both gone for 2015. They are having a problem selling the RLX because it is to similar to the TL in size. The new TLX with be a little larger than the current TSX and they hope that it will help better differentiate the line up and push RLX sales.
Although i don't see that helping the RLX sales too much.
