Custom LED tails for 09-10
So I have a friend who can make us custom LED tails.
I will obviously be the test mule, would anyone be interested in something like this? It'd save the hassle swapping to 2011 tails with those pinkish reverse/signal housing, plus it'll be on a core exchange basis so there won't be any down time.

yeah. the third brake light would definitely finish the look off. a small led red row on the third brake light and tastefully done rears. IMO the rear would have to be done JUST right to get people to switch over from stock but i have faith !!
i just googled some pictures of LED rears on the 1g TSX and the RSX and i am certainly intrigued.

i have made a poorly photoshopped image, please do not feel alarmed at my lack of skill:
if theres a night shot of the rear of our car i could make a better one im guessing
hard to reproduce the exact effect with the lighting in the source image, actual led lights would look much better, especially in darkness
edit: slightly improved
edit2: improvedier

I agree. just in case i tried doing the trunk reds...i dont know if they are used but i remembered the e46 having an LED panel that would fit the style, i like the before but here it is just for giggles:
edit: ONLY the red circle and the red sidemarkers are on during normal driving, the reds on the trunk arent on and therefore the above picture is now pointless : )

Going back on the subject of being too busy, I think having inner LEDs is overdoing it. It worked for BMWs because the E46 BMW coupe had a bigger inner tail, much bigger than the signal housing, so that worked out well. Our inner/outer tails are more proportioned....

I think this would look good. Basically taking a page from what VW does on the Passat...
In normal driving(head lights off) when brake is depressed, the inner circle lights up in a solid circle of LEDs.
In night driving(head lights on), the outer circle of LEDs is illuminated, when the brake pedal is depressed, the full inner circle lights up.

i like this idea and it sounds pretty sick would it require another layer of complexity because of the night day switchoff? i don't know actually but i like the inner / outer circle idea... nice pic too

defcon, thats pretty sick, if you did that yourself then teach me your ways on how to manipulate lighting !
heres a small GIF on the passat style lights, i hope this matches what the passat looks like steezy since i cant say ive ever seen em in person
learning how to make GIFs last week = endless fun

I'm definitely interested in this. I really like the circle. I would just keeit like that and keep it simple. Heh you guys and your calc 2. I went with the sciences right now for my second degree for nursing
