Clutch is Squeaking
Clutch is Squeaking
My car has a little over 1100 miles now and my clutch started to squeak today. The squeak happens as I am releasing the clutch. Anyone know of this issue and what the fix is? I am assuming this is covered under warranty.
take it back to the dealer. I think for that it is 12 months for adjustments-not exactly sure but read the warranty booklet.
It is a squeak similar to when you are jumping on an old bed. It happens every single time I release the clutch, after the engagement point. It is very audible now. I will be bringing it to acura to see what the tech says. I will keep you posted.
for the past 3 days, my clutch has squeaked on occasion (diff from the creak from the other thread, that I also experience during hotter days) -
Only thing I noticed is that it was SUPER humid + has been very rainy the past few days.. and today, the humidity went back down to normal... and.. just like that, squeak is gone.. not sure if that's a direct correlation, but it could be related..
either way, let me know what you find out from Acura!

i have this issue and had this issue since 5000 miles mine only happens when i'm at high rpms though. However Acura ( 3 dealerships ) couldn't figure out what the source of the sound was.. All I could do is document the issue, and when it comes up after warranty bring in the paper work proving that I begge to have it looked at before my warranty expired and hope they at least go 50 50 on the fix..
my thread about it from last year.. No real helpful tips though lolololol

I went to the dealer and they were able to fix the squeak. My service advisor said that the switch was hitting a rubber cover around the clutch causing the squeak. However, when I drove away, a new sound started which is a clicking noise when both depressing and releasing the clutch. The squeak did disappear but now the clicking noise has replaced it. Although the clicking isnt as annoying I decided to call them back and get them to fix it. They decided they would just go ahead replace the entire switch but will have to order the part first. I will bring back my car on Friday afternoon and report the results to you guys when I am finished.
My clutch has alwas clicked as well. LOL They also didn't know how to fix that at the three dealerships lolololol.. I need to come out where you are and get my stuff looked at they seem to be a better service center.
What kind of clicks does your clutch make? Mine clicks once when you push it in and then twice when releasing it. It is not as annoying as the squeak but I still want them to fix it. All of the services are still under warranty.
Mine is just a click when i depress the clutch, doesn't click twice when i let it go or anything.
However when i idle in first gear and try to accelerate slowly from that point, the car shakes a lot.. Lolol not sure what that means about the clutch if anything. It's rather annoying in traffic though when I dont' feel like putting the car in neutral and i just idle down the road in first gear.. everytime i go over like 7 mph it starts thrusting forward and back, like the clutch isn't grabbing the gear completely or something..

My car is two years old and has over 37K miles on it.
The only click sound was the clutch pedal hitting the all-weather mat when I release the clutch, there's actually a TSB on that.(09-008 FEB 09 Interior - Driver's Floor Mat Contacts Clutch Pedal ) All I did was slide the mat a few mm back and problem solved. But mine never squeak.
