Blue tinted side view mirror?

Is there any place out there we can get blue tinted side view mirrors for our cars?

Isn't there that lamin-x thing? Unless that's just for tints o_o Go to a local performance store/panel shop? Ask them maybe?

Know something funny, at the local acura meet 2 weeks ago...I had a member take a ride in my car and he asked me about mine. My TL CAME with the bluish tinted side mirrors. It's an of year 2003...3rd Gen.

Strange!

I know there is lamin-x available, but I am concerned about the clarity of the image seen in the mirror if I apply it. I am also concerned with the heat generated from the heated mirrors. It would be nice if there was a mirror replacement option out there, but after searching I had come up with nothing.

Has anyone tried the lamin-x on their mirrors?

lamin-x wont work on the mirrors. you wont be able to see through them because its too hazy/fuzzy

$17
Make sure to get Pacific blue. The other blue is too dark.

Go to a tint shop and bring this with you. I had this done when I got my windows tinted for $160

ok...am i fukin crazy then...
here is a shot of my car that really shows the color of the mirrors. This is one of the original 3G's to roll off the lot and I can guarantee you there was no tint added...
I picked it up with my stepdad in December 2003...anyone know if the original aspec package (called "sport package" at the time...didn't even have the badging or steering wheel) included bluish hue mirrors?

^ i thought all 3g TL's had the blue mirrors.

Edit*
I tried looking at hondanews.com but got lazy at the sight of how many articles i had to sift through.
Edit* just posting relevant tid bits, lets see if I can find the "sport package"

EXTERIOR (SIDEVIEW) MIRRORS
Mirror housing needs to be small and aerodynamic to reduce turbulence-without compromising mirror area. To reduce the housing size engineers devised a way to hold the mirror element from behind instead of at the sides, and carefully controlled the gap between the mirror element and housing to further reduce turbulence. Blue-tinted mirrors also reduce eyestrain in bright conditions.

Would it be better to go with a higher quality brand of tint? Something like LLumar, Suntek, or 3M?

I think as long as the shade is right, can hold up to the elements and is easy to see through, you should jump on it.

Holding up to the elements is my biggest concern, but I have no idea how to find out of a product will since most tints are designed to be used inside a vehicle. Anyone have any advice on what product will hold up to the elements?

honestly, man...
i would do lamin-x...it's meant for fog lights...so it can withstand water, heat and getting pounded by rocks...is cheap, and comes in many shades. Also, when you lay it on carefully, you willnot really see it. Worst case, you do it, hate it, remove it and goof off the sticky stuff off and you're not worse off.

I bet you it would be less than $15 shipped from ebay...look it up.

Ya, I got the same film you got. I mixed Baby Shampoo and water, like my tint guy told me to use as a tint solution. I sprayed down the whole mirror then stuck the tint to it and used the squeegee to work out some of the Soapy water. Then i got a brand new utility knife and cut the shape of the mirror out by putting the blade into crevice between the plastic and the acctually mirror. Then i peeled back the film and sprayed the mirror down again and applied the tint. Worked out all bubbles and soapy water with the squeegee once again. It is grainy but it does look sweet if your not looking directly into it. I dont regret it considering it only cost me 20 dollars and maybe an hour of my time. I will Post pictures once we get a sunny day here in boston

I guess its never sunny in boston.

I'm interested in this also. I think defcon's mirrors look awesome, but I'm hesitant about all the problems people have faced with doing this and the visibility loss from the tinting.

I think euro accord has the blue tinted mirrors. If you were to order the parts from lings I think you could just replace the mirror portion. I looked up the parts one time and they were more expensive than I thought this mod was worth.

I think all 3rd Gen TL's indeed come with blue-tinted side mirrors which I agree are quite useful when people feel the need to bright light you.
