Annoying Miles until empty Question

So the miles until empty screen is pretty useful but when the low fuel light comes on, its impossible to see the miles until empty anymore. What gives? Is this is a known issue? Seems to defeat the purpose of this. I dont care that I have 400 miles until empty but do care that I have 6 miles until empty.

Any way to access this when the light is already on?

Thanks

Miles remaining will show in your MID display if you navigate through the options & press the Select(?) button in between the Up & Down arrows.

Last year I was doubled over with a stomach flu for a couple of days & forgot to get gas. It was 40 degrees, raining, and I had left my phone at the house when I happened to look at the display to see it flashing "0 Miles" just before the engine shut off.

Walked two miles in the rain wishing I was dead to get to a pay phone & call Acura Roadside Assistance. I hadn't run out of gas since I was like...17?

What HeavyDuty said, all you need to do is push the arrow buttons up or down to get back to the other menu screens.

HeavyDuty, are you correct about it flashing before the eng. shut off? I only ask because i have driven a few miles with it reading "0 miles" without flashing and made it to the gas station. i just wonder how much further i could of pushed it..

Just the other day I was driving on the highway and was watching the MID display go to zero. I was using nav to go somewhere, and according to the nav distance I'd have just enough gas to get there. Well good thing the nav number has been conservative. It said I had something like 20 miles to go, and my range was 21. As I got closer, the nav started decreasing quicker, so by the end I was about 4 miles on the plus side. I still ended up driving 2 miles past when the range said zero to find a gas station. Got to the gas station, and I put in 17.65 gallons.

Yeah, 17.5 is about the max I remember putting in. I don't know how long it was flashing, I would imagine for about 15-20 miles remembering how far back & forth to work I drove that week before it ran empty. It wasn't an instantaneous "0" then shutoff or anything like that.

I know for sure I've put in 18 gallons once, but that was after it showed "0" for about 20 miles.

It depends on how you drive but I asked this question before to the salesguy and he said I'd have about 20 miles (1 gallon) of emergency when it hits 0 miles.
