Aftermarket Lip Spoiler
So I finally got an aftermarket lip spoiler from eBay (seller carparts123 I think)
It was $99 and $20 shipping and it comes painted. From first glance, it looks IDENTICAL to the OEM spoiler, except its less than half the price. The paint match is dead on, it looks like it has the same mounting points and comes with the studs and nuts and the template for where to make the holes.
I am going to buy some more 3M adhesive strips and use those as well, I kinda want to avoid making holes.
I will post pictures later on tonight, hoping someone else have pictures of the OEM Lip Spoiler before it was installed for comparison.

I just looked over the install instructions for the OEM lip spoiler, it looks like they use 4 clips to hold it in place with some 3M tape around.
This spoiler I have uses 1 stud/nut combination on each side with 3M tape all around.

Spoiler installed
I had time for a wash and install last night after work.
I'll try to be as descriptive as possible. First off, I did not use the studs and nuts that come with this lip spoiler, I went to Autozone and bought some heavy duty 3M molding tape. I got 2 sizes for easier application, the thicker one covers double the space in the same time and probably holds better.
I had a TL lip spoiler which was on only with 3M tape and it worked out perfectly for 2 years until I sold that car. I placed 3M tape everywhere on the backside of the spoiler including the area where the stud and nut would hold the spoiler. Here are some shots.
Notice paint match is dead on.
This is where the included stud would go on the backside of the spoiler.
Some 3M tape
Now we can test fit
Add 3M tape on the backside
I used Alcohol to rub down the area before I applied the spoiler, I also used a lot of pressure for as long as I could stand there all over the spoiler, so hoping it will be on there real good. Since it won't be pulled down by gravity, unless someone pulls it off, I think it will be fine.
Remember when you are trying to align the spoiler you can pull if off and realign, if you haven't applied too much pressure or if it hasn't been on too long you can pull it off to work with it.
Let me know what you guys think.

wow that looks sick, i hope they have one in black. What is the purpose of rubbing it down with alcohol beforehand? Is it to remove particles for a better bonding surface?
Also, how would you go about removing it if necessary

OEM might be a snugger fit, but other than that I don't know.

As stated before the alcohol removes any waxes so it can bind better. Someone asked how you would remove it, well just like any body molding part, just pull it off slowly it will come off, or use some floss underneath like you would with badges.

for me i like to keep the badge, but seems like a lot of people in here likes to de-badge it. so w/e u want!

I always thought the OEM one sticks out a little bit further...guess not. or maybe i just have to see it from a different angle. Either way looks amazing

WTH happened to my garage
If it's not OE, it's a damn good knock-off.
That PMM w/ the sport kit, deck lip and debadged is just freakin gorgeous. I soooo wanted PMM but my dealer dude hosed me.

It's a VERY good OEM replica, however I do think something is still slightly different about it. But very slightly, not enough to warrant paying the cost for the real OEM one from a dealer, which I'm guilty of. Even though I paid considerably less, I paid more than this ebay one.

I just looked at mine. The OEM one seems to have sharper edges on the ends of the spoiler as this one seems to be more curved. There's also an edge that runs along the whole top of the spoiler just like this:

So far no problems, I will try to get a close up to see if I have that edge, it could be harder to see cause of the paint. I need to see an OE spoiler in person to see if it really is different. But it looks great to me.
Oh and I don't use the car wash so I wouldn't know. Technically it's better to mount it with the studs, but I didn't want to make holes in my trunk. Even the OE would be a PITA to remove for whatever reason since those clips do not look too easy to get to once they pop in.

that's damn cheap compared to oem lips. and fitment is very good too.
drilling is a little overkill for these lips. 3m tapes do much better job without drilling. sometimes acura requires too much drilling bumpers/trunk where extra 3m tapes can do much better job.
when installing front aspec lip for my 3g tl-s, instruction required to drill the front bumper. instead i just used 3m tapes where it requires drilling and it still holds fine after 2 years.
