A1 Service

First off just wanted to say hi to everyone being a new member here. I've been browsing for some time and now its time for my first post.

Anyways, my questions are:
1. How much did you pay for the A1 service from the dealer?
2. How many miles did you rack up before the computer told you the service was due? Whats your driving habits?

I'll be sitting at 12,000 miles when I bring it in next week which is based off of 90 percent highway driving over the past 7 months. (In reality its 6 months of driving since it took a month for the body shop to fix the car after a freak road debris accident 3 weeks after getting the car)

I'm curious to see how adaptive the computer is.

Also, what is everyones experience with dealers repairing/replacing blown speakers and correcting the hood bounce? Since no TSB's have been issued will this count as warranty work? Both seem to fairly common problems on here.

Thanks in advance

I had maintenance B1 done at around 7600 miles, so you've made it much further. B1 set me back about $240, but that is more comprehensive than A1. I don't know why I got B1 at this interval when others seem to get A1.

I had a blown speaker and it was covered under warranty at no cost to me. No experience with the hood rattle.

I don't know about A or B or whatever, but I had the one with rotate & balance, new wiper blades, oil & filter & supposedly changed the trans lube & some other stuff. It was $269, but when I made an ugly face he "remembered" they had a $100 off coupon so I paid $169.

I don't think that's the same thing because I've already had 2 oil changes but haven't had this service done yet.

I had A1 service done at 11,000km or 7,000 miles. Cost C$70 /US$55 for oil and filter, fluids and tire rotation. Going in for B1 on the 23rd at 21,000km or 13000 miles.

I am dreading the dealer servicing costs. My old focus, oil and filter change, air filter change and tire rotation, thats all it pretty much needed upto 60K, then i need to replace plugs and wires.

I guess thats teh cost of owning a luxury car.

My A1 just came up, I had the car since September and it only has 4500 miles. My oil life is at 15%. I am going to change the oil myself, anything else part of this maintenance other than the tire rotation?

Oil change for the TSX can be a bit of a pain, you have to remove 6 bolts to drop the under cover to access the drain plug and oil filter. Of course, you will need to reset the maintenance minder afterwards (instruction is in the manual). You may be able to get the first service done for free from your dealer. Since you bought yours in September, I assumed the dealer already fixed the valet key problem.

I never even checked if I had the Valet key problem, I never use the valet key. I actually have been under the car about 3 times in the last week fiddling with HID fogs, so I know what has to be done to get to the drain bolt, seems super easy, deff not worth $70

I already got the filter for $5, now all I need is some Mobile1 and 30 min of free time and some nice weather.

Ouch. I got the exact same for $65. I'm thinking I could just buy a filter and synthetic for $15 and do everything on my own in 2 hours..
