Acura TSB: Free ECU Reflash?

I was just checking out t s x c l u b cause I was bored and I came across a thread reviewing the takeda intake for our cars. I found this information more intriguing. Heres the link

http://.com/forums/2nd-gen-engine/40...alled-one.html (fill in the blank with t s x c l u b to go to the link)

"To OP, have you had your ECU reflashed by acura yet? I am able to pull 32 mpg average after getting the reflash from the dealership."

"reflash!? I did not know the offered one."

"To correct the ignition timing issue. They replace a knock sensor, remove the intake manifold and replace all the seals, and correct the timing. The car pulls considerably more smoothly through the rpm band. It is all under a TSB, and for me and for everyone with an 09 should be free.
"
And post #18
"The web site will not let me post my information... perhaps I can email it to you?

with A/T, also update the A/T software.

software to complete the repair.

Just want to get some feedback on if anyone has done to our cars yet, or even if this info is true. I know the engine pinging was a big issue with our cars so hopefully this news is positive.

Hm, and I wonder if I can have the dealership do this for me even though my car doesn't experience the pinging. Im down for a smoother acceration pull especially if its free.

there are times when im running 60-70mph and it all of sudden my speed de-accelerate and then immediately accelerates within 1 second.

I got my ECU reflashed but they did not replace the knock sensor. According to Honda, Acura Victoria closed, the first step is to do the reflash. If that doesn't fix the problem then they replace the knock sensor. Needless to say my car will be going back in to have the knock sensor replaced.

As for 32mpg...I'm using on average 10L/100kms.

I wonder if I should put the factory intake back on.

i got this knock sensor and ping shit fixed.. and acceleration was anything but smooth for a good month.. its starting to smooth back out now.. but it still has its jittery days.. it was actually more of a inconvenience then it was a convenience.. I'd rather had the pinging then the moderate acceleration issues I have now.

Dealership says thats how most hondas drive and oh well they can't fix it

I think I just like the loud pedal. My wife gets about the same mileage as you do and she does mostly city driving here in Victoria. I have gotten about the same as you but I have to drive like my dead grandmother f...ks doesn't appeal to me very much.

Sorry in advance if the dead grandmother comment offended anyone. It is my grandmother I am refering to after all. LOL.

im not goin to lie...my fuel consumption is always in the 10.6-11.6/100km range lol. But then again I have 19" wheels on and enjoy spirited driving atleast once a tank.

correct in that it is a knock sensor replacement and ECU reflash to fix the pinging. My pining was more of a noise complaint on my part. Other than that, I'm happy.
