Since the 2009-2011 uses a different OEM fog light housing, I am thinking of putting a cluster of 4 in each fog light housing. I figure an aluminum plate and can be cut to fit inside the reflector bowl and act as an additional heatsink. 4 of these provided the specifications are right can be run in parallel off the ~14v and hopefully be reliable as DRL fogs.
Pass.. Use some quality bulbs like VLEDs

Actually, VLEDS probably aren't quality either. One of my H11s blew out, and many on other forums are claiming they have premature failure as well. Granted you will find an audience which claim premature failure on any popular brand out there, but I'm pretty convinced their stuff isn't as good as many think they are. Plus their 1 year limited warranty isn't very long as well. Mine died literally a month or two after that 1 year mark.

Probably better to go with Diode Dynamics or something similar. They seem to have a pretty good track record (so far).

Two of my aunts have gone through a few Odysseys over the past ~10 years. I took a trip with them a few years ago in the touring edition and sitting in the back was awesome, we watched so many movies. I also drove it for a few hours and it felt like a boat.

Oh? Damn maybe their QA and quality have gone down the shitter as of late.. Bummer!

Yeah maybe . I've been looking forward to a set of VLEDS switchbacks for a very long time, but they're pretty expensive, and seemingly always backordered (popular?). Found a set of LED fogs on the BM here and, seller is honestly a very, very helpful and straight up guy. Tried to help me claim warranty and fight my case as his own and everything but, the resolution was like a $20 voucher on a new purchase and after having read all of what I mentioned above, I decided to opt out and give that voucher back to the seller for being so helpful. Could've definitely been an isolated incident but, didn't really seem so since I did more research.

i guess the other option is to build my own LED emitters. I can source the bulbs and make the heatsink housing and put a lense on each, the cost will likely be more if i source it separately but it should be more reliable with quality components.

LOL we were having fun with those seats when you make turns. Pull the handle and drift to the other side of the car in a turn hahaha

Oh, that is the perfect "easter egg" for kids to inevitably find!

I can totally see that happening. And then Mom or Dad using the Shout-a-phone feature to yell at them about it.

How are the seat belts/shoulder harnesses configured such that the seats can slide while one is sitting in them and remain properly restrained? Are they completely captive to the seat?

Got the fogs on, don't have any good pictures that do them justice, but definitely bright as shit. Comparison picture above.

I'm guessing it's the battery/battery terminal with corrosion because the car wouldn't start after leaving the lights running for a bit. Went to Autozone to check the readings and the guy said because of the corrosion he couldn't get a reading, drove a mile down to an Advance auto store and the guy said the battery was fine, was reading higher than normal. A few hours ago I noticed the turn signal bulbs were flicking enough to notice and while driving home the music cut off once. When I turned the car off it went completely dead because it wouldn't even lock.

Going to clean the terminals tomorrow, probably buy a new battery too because mine is from September 2013 ( 3 years+), but is there any chance it could be the new fogs? Wasn't having any issues until they were installed.

That shouldn't do it. Did you disconnect the battery before installing the new lights? If so, make sure the terminals are tight.

Clean the posts and terminals, tighten down well.

But just swapping out the fogs shouldn't have any affect.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, that terminal looks pretty bad too and I just cleaned it a few months ago. Here, have another overly enlarged image (but seriously is there a way to make pictures smaller...).

Lol, the car was starting like a champ until now!

So would it be possible to swap the terminal with this one? I know my friend had the same corrosion problem repeatedly and said he swapped his with that.

You could. But what kind of terminal do you have now? Looks copper or brass.

So you cut it off and install that AutoCraft brass terminal. Back to square one, no?

Unless your OEM terminal doesn't clamp down tight enough anymore, putting a new one doesn't *really* make sense.

Chances are, just cleaning the post and terminal will get you by until the battery itself craps the bed.

As long as there is no corrosion inside the battery cable strands or between the cable and the clamp, it should be fine.

Clean first. Then address spending money.

It's the regular OEM one, so whatever that is (copper maybe) the other one is brass. And the only reason I would be swapping it is so it doesn't corrode. It says corrosion resistant in the details...idk. If I do get a new battery I don't want it to start corroding again.

But yeah we'll see how bad it is tomorrow when I take it off.

Meh. Brass is just an alloy of copper and zinc. Copper and Zinc are neighbors on the periodic table. The galvanic potentential between Copper or Brass and Lead is very close. Yes, brass is technically a little bit better, but I'm not sure it'd be really that noticeable.

I mean, go for it if you want, but I bet the major improvement you'd see from changing out the terminals is that the new ones are clean.

Did you bust out the periodic table for that one

And I just figured if I swap the part, maybe it won't corrode at all (or as fast) considering I cleaned it before and it came back just as bad if not worse. I may be wrong though.

You don't have a PT with you at all times? Not even a burner in case you get into trouble? What if you need to calculate electron states???

Yup, got it all cleaned up. Took awhile to start, but it did. Went to get it read and the guy was saying he was surprised it was still going considering it's almost double the warranty period. Probably going to swap with Interstate from Costco or Duracell battery from Sam's. Both carry a 3 year warranty and I believe it's prorated after that.

Go to autozone or advance, spend $1.50 on one of those dielectric grease packets to prolong corrosion coming back.

buy some di-electric grease and apply it to the terminals. Put a nice coat over them and it should prevent corrosion build up.

It's roughly twice as electric as monoelectric grease.
