It attracts the ladies?

That's about as red as EL will get. That range of the color spectrum is difficult to hit, mos of the time red requires a colored overprint which cuts down on the light transmission. So it's a fine trade between "redness" and "brightness".

I'm gonna post up a little diy thing on how to do it. Although i'm sure most people don't have access to a laser cutter though...

There is one at my school they said i could use if i bring my own material, so i might just make a couple that way if people want.

also yeah they look pinkish in the picture but they are a little more red IRL. They are BRIGHT too. My blue ones are even brighter tho.

I'll probably sell the other set if anyone wants. I want to remake another set in brushed aluminium. (that is, if the cutter can even do aluminium)
edit: aww damn it cant

Try a sign / vinyl shop. A blade cutter might be able to handle it. The aluminum isn't very thick and I bet they could handle with their automate cutter.

Haha. Yep. cu2wagonspace. . has a nice ring to it.

I have some experience with Electroluminescent lamps from a past life. And, actually, we did have a laser cutter for prototype jobs.

I retain a little bit of knowledge every now and then. Regardless of how big a moron I might seem at times.

Although, EL is pretty much dead now (and also why I don't get paid to do it anymore!). LED is superior in like 99% of the cases. Something like this project is the 1%.

That said, I have a supersecret plan to try and do this same thing with LED. But that's not exactly a "time-friendly" venture so for now iCrap & Joeboe's project is The Way™.

Maybe in 10 or 15 years when there are no more TSXs on the road, I'll finally have my way done...
