I took mine in but they said they took it for a test drive and "everything seems normal" so they can't do anything.

Any ideas how to take off some dried polish from some areas of the car? There are a few white spots i can't take off... I was thinking isoprophyl alcohol, or maybe goof off (is that bad for the paint?)

I like the way it sounds @ 2nd gear from 35-42 mph (with intake reson. bypass). But to cruise there it's at 3-4k in second. Sometimes when I'm at a higher rpm (like 4.5+) and am just cruising/not accelerating, I can hear a whine, not sure if normal or not. Also, when I'm in second, and downshift into first at like 5k and deaccelerating (not braking/accelerating) I can hear the whine till 2-3.8/4k, sounds like a S/C lol.

does your steering wheel vibrate a little bit while cruising at high rpm? I duno about that whine, mine dosen't do that. But my wheel does vibrate a bit at high RPM.

I don't think it's all that great for the engine to cruise at 4k for extended periods btw. cruise in 3rd/4th.

Yea I usually cruise at 2k at 3-4. My wheel usually doesn't vibrate unless I'm on a bumpy road. The whine happens when I'm at a high rpm and just staying there (not braking/accelerating). As soon as I accelerate, the whine goes away. Any ideas? Low trans. fluid?

Its sorta of like a whistling sound.
Like if I'm in second @ 3k and I shift into 1st @ 5k (just rolling/deaccelerating) it makes sorta a whistle sound from 1st @5k and stops at 3k. This isn't normal?

Apparently its intake whistle. Same sound as when there's a hole in the intake system, except for me, there's a whole in between the intake resonator and the actual intake.

So I changed my oil today... iCrap you were somewhat right about the metal cover. It a pain in the ass, but ONLY because of the very last screw I had to take out (yes I don't know why, maybe it's a 11+ thing, or maybe someone fucked up, but I have screws, not bolts). The head stripped, and I tried PB Blaster to loosen it up... no dice. Luckily my dad got it off with a vice grip on the head of the screw and rotating... god I'm such a noob. I'll need a new screw for that part of the shield... but meh.. it's the metal cover so I don't really care lol

Just when I thought all was good (got the cover off, drain plug out and oil is draining), I couldn't get the filter off. Mind you, this is the car's first ever oil change (it has a little over 9000km; ~5600mi, mostly city driving so MID reached 5% fairly quickly), so the dealership or factory definitely overtightened the thing . I tried all sorts of tools... my bare hands, hands with grippy gloves, hands with sand paper, the jar opening thing in my kitchen lol... all failed. Then I went to Parts Source (besides Canadian Tire, that's what we have here in Canada that's open on a Sunday) to get something more proper for the job (my brother took me in his G37S 6MT; it was pretty awesome). Lol, we decided to get this rubber strap looking tool that looked pretty standard... brought it back home and gave it a try. Fucking rubber snapped when I tried for like the 5th time! POS to say the least. Drove back to the store with like 5 minutes until they were about to close... luckily the person was nice and gave me a full refund. I'm guessing this is common with that shitty product of theirs. At this point I was determined to get the oil filter wrench thing where you attach a ratchet to a cup that fits onto the filter. Problem is.... there was none that fit our tiny ass filters BUT, as we were about to leave defeated, someone returned one that fit. I bought it, took it home, WORKED IN ONE TRY. I was so anxious and pissed at the time, I didn't even use my head lol. The filter came off and some oil got on my head lol (luckily the back of my head... my reflexes were able to get me to at least rotate and nothing got on my face). Finished the job up soon after.

Then my family ask me, why didn't I just goto an el cheapo shop nearby and get an oil change done for like < $30 and ~30 min. Needless to say, I had no will to reply lol. End of story

Anyway, fully synthetic on 0w-20 now. She's gonna kill it next winter

Oh.... I also installed modulo side skirts the day before . Yes, I know this is much more interesting... No pics til she's clean doe.

IPA is fine. Dab some onto a MFT and wipe it thoroughly, but not in a way where you know you're scratching your car. It should come off. I use IPA to take off polish immediately after polishing the car. That way I know that I'm not fooled into thinking the swirls are gone because of leftover residue filling in the scratches. Obviously don't pour a shit load of it onto your car lol. If you're paranoid for whatever reason, wash your car after?

Method #2 might be to polish the area that has dried polish lol

^btw, make sure the IPA isn't 100% concentration; if so, dilute with some water. 50% concentration should be fine.

Lol... sounds kinda like my story when I changed my oil.... Everything went fine until I got to the damn filter. Eventually had to turn the wheel to the right so I could get more room and use one of those band wrenches and get it out

I want perf mods too but I definitely don't want the fart-like smell in the cabin that usually comes with PCD/test pipe mods. I'm a bit surprised flashpro made your car stink lol

Oh not in the cabin, just when you first start it up and stand behind it. But really? it makes the cabin stink? I could only really see that happening if you install it wrong..

$395 taxes/shipping in from Curry Acura. Still a pretty penny

I've been thinking about perf mods more and more now. Didn't really care much before cuz I convinced myself it's a 5AT and I don't really care, but the mod bug is real. I wish I had found a clean 6MT for a steal at the time.

I guess down the road, I would ideally have these mods: Flashpro, RV6 PCD, lighter wheels, exhaust. Oh and if Joe ever gets bored of his CT-E SC and decides to sell it to me for cheap

Dammmnnn that's like PCD money.

Buy the new FlashPro though you won't regret it. Especially after using the tune posted in the hondata thread.

Im still reluctant to spend big money on mods though (boosting it mainly). Have to decide if I want to make this car fast or just buy a fast car..

What's a downpipe? I only know of J-pipes
Wish they made one for the V6 though.... Although I think one of the other ones might fit with no modification.. Who knows~

Kinda doubt it; TSX V6 has the J35Z6. 08-12 Accord V6 has the J35Z2/Z3, depending on 6MT coupe or not. Also, RV6 has its own product for these vehicles.

I'm pretty sure PCD/J-Pipe, DP is the same shit on our cars This pipe deletes the precat (hence PCD), but it's also in the shape of the J (hence J-pipe), but it's also downwards (I made this one up.. DP?!)

Rv6 is a little raspy on 1st/2nd gear if you step on it at low rpm, but only for a second( also let my friend drive my car and I listened to the sound thinking I was gunna hate it, but when he drove by it wasn't fart can esque at all). Normal driving can't even hear it, and there's no drone even if you step on it. I haven't noticed any smell, but I also still have the 2nd cat.

Bought a resonator to replace the 2nd cat, but it has to be welded into place and I haven't done it yet.

I will personally thank anyone who can tell me the name of the after effect used to make those feature labels shown in the video. Or labels of that nature. Vossen makes a few videos where they have flashing circular lines calling out wheel type and suspension specs and stuff. I've been looking everywhere for that effect but I don't think I'm using the right "search" term.

After effects are really basic... All the cool shit are templates made by designers that you have to buy their template to use. Basically after effects is the engine that changes/ manipulates the made template.

lol either way, I ain't about to chuck that much on PCD's. Not even sure if it's worth the slight gains lol. Now If I did a full custom exhaust along with it, maybe...
