How long do the OEM pads usually last?

that question is akin to asking 'how long will my car last' or 'when will i be hungry again'
too much things like city/hwy, driver style, etc.
to guess I would say 30-40K .
pretty sure the OEM pads have the noise makers to let you know when things are critical. or a quick pull of the wheel and pad inspection would be definitive.
and on the 12 the oem pads are ceramic.

true, but there should still be an average.
I know about the noisemaker already, yea.
I'll just have a look next time the wheels are off.

Akebono "Oem" pads are shit... They don't last for shit and braking power is average to good.. If you want more bite and longer life get some hawk pads or ebc pads that fit your driving habits.. Since you "hoon" the fuck out of her I suggest a more aggressive pad than factory, with that though u may get an occasional squeak for only a min when the brakes are cool

yeah i have the hawk ceramic with the rotors on my wagon. they only have about 8K miles but I like them hardly any dust.
on my cherokee I run the hawk HPS on the front discs. Very low dust but good bite, and rotor friendly.

My rear pads only lasted about 30k. 37k on the clock now, fronts still have some life left.

Audi won the 24 hours of Le Mans again, for the 13th time. Was hoping Porsche would make a comeback and win this year.

Have any of you went to Acura for any of the TSBs? I have a few of them and am wondering how cool they are about doing them if I still have warranty.
I have the clicking when turning the steering wheel, but only in the morning on a cold start. After one or two turns it doesn't come back. I think they're going to want to replicate the problem, but it's really impossible unless I leave them the car overnight and they check it then.

drop it off during the night before so it will be cold when they get it.
clicking could be clockspring which is expensive part.
if you have warranty tsb should be free IF they agree its needed.
if you show up with everyone that MIGHT be applicable yet you have no sign or symptoms.....then it COULD become a different story/
all depends on dealer when you dont show a need for it.

I have this also...Lol. Did they just reglue it or was it a new trim piece.
Yeah I've seen threads where people said the quote was like 800-1,000 to fix the clicking wheel problem without warranty. I only have it for 3 months max I believe so I want those TSBs fixed asap. Dropping it off isn't an issue, it's probably the most tricky one I have, the others are obvious, so ill see what they say.

They in fact do replace the whole trim piece because a new clip design was made that wouldn't break in the same manner as the old one.
