Next time I come down I'll let you know. Time is usually pretty limited so I've stopped telling everyone I was coming down, and just let them know the day of if I have some free time. I'll make some time next time to do something though. Maybe do lunch somewhere with the Houston crew.

I have to do my first first jury duty in a few weeks since I cant use college as an excuse anymore. How can I get out of it this time?
Enroll in college classes to become a student again?
Steal something and get convicted of theft?
Go to the doctor and get a note saying I am crazy?

You have to go for day one, but you won't necessarily be selected as a juror. By the end of the first day, if you're not selected, you don't have to return.
Even if you use college as an excuse you can only postpone the date by 6 months I think, so eventually you'd have to go.

Sneaky Tip: There is no real way of punishing somebody for not showing up for Jury Duty, other than your own moral compass.
But if you hate to do it, then do not complain about maintaining your right when they allow green-card holders to start serving on juries because you are the reason they will resort to that law.

Part of me is interested in going. The other part doesn't want to miss work and have to work extra hours to make up for lost time. I've watched a lot of Judge Judy in my day, but I know realistically a normal court room is nothing like that. I've never been to court/jury duty.
