2012 Wagon AC-Bearing not fixed.. SQUEAK SQUEAL
Ok so after reading the forum about 4 months ago, my car started making the A/C bearing noise.
Noise only happens when accelerating between 2500-3700rpm only, with the A/C on.
It is a squeak/squeal.
Car is under warranty. Was at dealer for 2 weeks, while they waited for parts (some other things as well).
They changed the bearings per recall. They even changed the belt.
Noise remains.
Any ideas/Help? They are willing to work with me, but we are at a loss for what it might be

my squeak was the idler pulley. but happened even when the A/C was off though.

Seriously, seems like you've had a lot of issues with your wagon. How many miles are you at?

till I test drove it with them
then I actually printed your previous response from the forum
and they changed the bearing
mine only does it when A/C is on, thus I didn't think it was idler pulley.
Car goes back to dealer Thursday. So I wanted to check in with you guys before sending it back in to see if you recommend anything else

Still can be the idler pulley, just think when the A/C engages it does put more drag on the belt, and that can make a bearing that is fine under normal load make noise under pressure. Worth a shot.

We had the tlx recently where we out about 1200 miles in 2 weeks (I posted in tlx forum)
I prefer my wagon to all the stuff they make now .
We haven't driven the tlx v6 which may be a good drive , I don't know

I've had two wagons. The first with about 28k miles and the current one with about 35k miles. I've had nothing but routine maintenance.
If I were you, I'd speak to a lemon lawyer. Sure, you're out of the lemon period, but you've had significant issues that are unusual and not typical of the car.
While you might not get the car bought back, you will undoubtedly get some sort of consideration.
PM me if you'd like more info.

Or, HondAcura will eventually see how much they're paying out and just not return it one trip. You'll just never get a call to pick it up and they'll take the loss on the loaner they let you keep.
Sort of like Demuro's Carmax Land Rover saga, I'm morbidly curious how far you can take these repairs (and I think you might be as well!).

Hell, at this point, I'd say don't worry about a Lemon Lawyer. Just keep taking it back and eventually they'll have replaced absolutely everything on the car except maybe the unibody and the oil filler and you'll have basically the only 2016 TSX Wagon... In the world...

Easy, just start complaining about things on the loaner until he gets the car he wants.

That is what happened when I took the car in last. They said 2 days. Then 4 days. Every 2 days they called and extended it, till the car was there for full 2 weeks
Anyway, took it out for a drive today to isolate the noise a bit more:
Anyway, took it out for a drive today to isolate the noise a bit more:
- Noise happens between certain rmp only
- squeak last for 4-5 seconds goes away
- every few minute squeak comes back
- if fan is on, but a/c off, no noise
- a/c button has to be on for noise
- if I let off the gas pedal while noise happens, noise still remains
- noise starts at a low frequency then increases to full squeak/whistle

Burning Brakes
I feel the same way. The new stuff just doesn't "thrill" me. My wagon, with about 45k miles has had mostly routine maintenance. A few non-routine items:
1. battery died twice. Did a jump start the first time and was ok for a while. Dealer checked and said nothing was wrong. When it died a second time, the dealer replaced the battery for free.
2. TSB - windshield trim popped off. Fixed, no charge.
3. Small leak involving transmission fluid. Fixed under warranty.
4. Occasional burning smell from the front. When I was removing the winter tires, I realized one wheel had 2 lug nuts that were way over-torqued. I think the service guy at the dealer made the mistake. No more burning smell.
I feel for you -- owning a TSX Wagon should be a fun experience but I like how you made it an opportunity to test drive new cars, and to share with this forum.

Per dealer noise is from expansion valve
Has been ordered, will be here Thursday
Interestingly enough lots of Gen 1 TSX owners had same problem, where dealer replaced all bearings, belts, pulleys, only to find its the expansion valve:

If that works for you i'll do that also... looks like the part is only like $20.
edit: wait nevermind.. since my noise is there regardless of AC on or off it's probably not that.

You are welcome.
Living in LA, we never use the heat. I just put the car in re-circ mode in winter (no outside air comes in), and put seat heater on full. Then again, that is usually a 65 degree day
Good luck!
