2012 TSX SE (Black)

So, I just leased a 2012 TSX Special Edition in all black. I will be picking it up on Monday at around noon, so I will post pictures and videos (on YouTube). I am planning on tinting the windows, changing or painting the grill, changing or painting the rims, and possibly buying blacked out headlights and tinting the tail lights. I also want to possibly add a chip, new muffler (not sure if I want a new exhaust), and a cold air intake (most likely K&N or Injen). Any suggestions on what I should do to it, and where I should buy everything (either online or at a store)?

I know I am getting ahead of myself, but I will be most likely buying my car out at the end of the lease period. I won't be doing the majority of the work to the car for at least 3-6 months. I got a pretty good deal on the car. I was going to finance, but it would have been to much for me to handle, especially with school coming up. I am 20 by the way. I am only paying $369 a month, with no money down. My insurance is about $263 (this will most likely be lowered with my 10% safe driver's discount, I have insurance through Geico). I only had to pay the first month's payment and the DMV fee (registration, plates, etc.) I also received free weather mats as a complimentary gift.

This is also my first, of many, posts. Glad to be here. I live about 30 minutes outside of New York City, so if anyone lives nearby, hit me up and we should schedule a TSX meetup.

I am also thinking about adding some LED's on the Acura logos to illuminate them at night, change out the license plate lights to a bright white light, and change the interior lighting to either bright white, blue or red (to keep it uniformed with the stock red lighting accents above the foot pedals).

I was just about to ask you why would you consider doing so much modification work if it's only a lease. You cleared that up rather quickly though and I hope you make it to your liking.

You got a pretty good deal there bud. I financed my '09 at the age of 20 with $5000 down and I pay $328 + $265 for insurance through Geico as well. Everything is under my name, and I didn't have a co-signer. I'm surprised I'm paying so little. Lol

You will love your TSX. Welcome to the forums!

There is a very good lease rate for the TSX: 0 down and 0 first months payment for $350 before taxes and fees. He def qualified for preferred tier and the fact that he got an SE is def and added bonus (lease is only for the base). Acura seems to be handing out free credit to anyone these days -- kinda stupid, imo. Regardless, I'm happy it worked out for you. Sucks that your insurance is so high! I only paid $120 for my TSX with a $500 deductible. 1 speeding ticket, otherwise flawless driving record.

Being a bit "older" does have it's privileges. I pay $125/month for 2 cars, TSX (full coverage) and an '99 Volvo wagon (liability only). Your address will have alot to do with insurance price too though, my location is actually pretty pricey to be insured in.

Cool that you are able to drive such a nice car at your age, I drove cheap cars 'till I was 26. Congratulations.

Stan

Well I live in a very pricey area due to the amount of cars that get stolen or broken into yearly.

I was paying $100 for my '98 Civic, and that only covered Fire/Theft/Vandalism... so I knew what I was in for when purchasing the TSX.

Not to mention I'm still considered a new driver (I'll have 3 years with my license in October). I don't have any moving violations though *knocks on wood* so it will be going down $50 in October. I'm pretty excited.

I was just about to say you all are paying a grip. I have full coverage and $100 collision deductible and am only paying $71 a month. I am 27, though, btw.

Damn you all pay a lot up north. My wife and I pay $315 and $305 for our TSX's with $0 down. We are both 26 years old and I pay $125 for both TSX's with full coverage and $500 ded.

I tried getting them down more on the SE but my wife told me to give up...these threads make me feel better about my deals.

The SE actually leases out better than the Base TSX.

I would have gotten it for cheaper, but my credit score isn't "heavy" they said. The Sales Manager said that I haven't bought any "big ticket" items which will boost my credit score up. This is also why I had to get a co-sign. Also, this is my first car, plus it's under my name in the lease and the insurance. My insurance rate for my age and where I live is pretty good. I have a friend who was paying almost $900 a month for his insurance. He did have some tickets, but no points on his license. His monthly insurance cost has been lowered, but is still high.

There's my baby. All stock, no modifications as of yet. Just ordered blue interior lighting for map and dome as well as door lights. Also ordered blue license plate lighting. Tinting the windows this week, and getting the grill painted black. Probably going to paint the wheels black, but not for a few weeks. Going to de-badge the car as well, except for the Acura logo (I may leave the SE decal). I am going to install small led lights on the Acura logos as well, and change the fog light color, but leave the headlights stock.

Any suggestions on fog light colors? I was thinking of yellow, or maybe a blue-ish white.

Nice Car. I would de-badge and leave the SE on... that's what I did. Sorry for the quality of the pics. I just took these in low light.

I would go yellow fogs. I tried to take this without backing my car out of the garage. Again, sorry.

you have a big garage...? sounds like mod sundays are moving to your house haha. im the East Coast bumper removal champ, lemme know if you want me to pop your baby's cherry, i did a removal, resonator delete, HID install, and bumper reinstall in a bit over 40 min, bullshittin

PS: i recommend plastidip before you repaint your wheels black, you may want to reconsider the murdered out look, and if your gonna keep the stock wheels and just paint them, trade them to someone with regular TSX wheels and paint those. the finish on the SE rims is so much nicer, dont ruin it

Nice pics man! I am going to leave the SE badge on, I happen to like it a lot. The finish on the SE stock rims are so nice to. I guess I am better off just buying regular TSX rims and painting them, rather than trading (I want to keep my stock ones).

By the way, did you buy your fog lights online? If so, can you send me a link? It's kinda tough finding things online for the 2012 TSX SE

everything that fits the 09-12 TSX fits the SE TSX, its almost identical minus a few minor changes. the 09/10 grill will not fit the 11/12 bumper, beside that, all lighting, wiring, everything is the same. i got a DDMtuning kit for my HID fogs, others have from ebay, HIDextra, lots of places

I actually just bought the fog light covers from laminx.com. I haven't seen or really looked around for a full fog kit. You can also replace the bulbs to add more yellow or whatever color you decide on. The covers are nice because they will protect the fog light, and are easy to install.

Here's a couple sites that I came across that sells TSX stuff:

http://www.performancepalace.com/

http://www.heeltoeauto.com/

Have fun modding!

I figured that most of the parts were identical. This makes it a lot easier though, cause now I am certain. Thanks

how many miles a year though? I'm 26 too, btw. Though I'm not married but I do have a professional job, though not lucrative enough to pay all my bills plus rent so basically you're better than me
