from 05 Accord CL7 to TSX 2012

Hello everyone!

Two days ago I bought a beautiful TSX 2012 2.4 with 5-speed Auto and Technology Package. My previous Accord was black so I decided to try something new but it turns out that this graphite color is even better. The car is magnificent! I feel a lack of words to express how happy I am. It has only 3 miles on it when I drove away from the dealership. The dealership was absolutely perfect. I am not sure if it is allowed to say the dealership name but if it is OK I will.

Only two things are not 100% perfect... just 99% . 1. The car I test drove has aluminium pedals and I though every TSX with TechPack has it - wrong. I do not have it. and 2. The brake pedal is kind a soft. I am not sure is it good or bad... or I just have to use to it, but I personally think it should be more grippy on the first inch of the pedal. What do you think about that?

Other than that everything is awesome - the gas pedal reaction, the gear changes, the sport-mod and flappy-paddles, the navigation and sound system, leather etc... etc...

I do not want to start war here but I tested IS250 and G37 and even though I was in a market for a RWD car I did not like it.

Welcome and congrats

If it had the Aluminum pedals it must have been an SE pkg you drove.

Everyone on this forum has had some exp in trying to buy a RWD car but in the end these members choose trusty ol' Acura, myself included.

Enjoi your stay and please use the SEARCH button

An Accord with factory HIDS, softer seats (IMHO) and a better looking body!

welcome fellow GLM!!

glad you love it. I felt the same way about my brake pedal when I first drove my TSX, but after a while, you just get used to it.

I'm curious to know your reasons against the IS250 and G37 because I too looked at RWD cars but ended up getting the TSX.

and I'm pretty sure you can say which dealership you got it from. If you wanna rep them, go ahead. No shame in that!

The gas pedal on both IS and G was sluggish! On the IS you literally should press it at least on 50% to rev and start to pull. On the TSX you just touch it and the car is flying. And this is not related to the engine power! The brakes on IS are best from all these three cars! G37 is very narrow in the area around my head. I hit my head three times during the test-drive on the edge between the driver's door and the roof. And this happened with the seat all the way down! This 7-speed auto on G37 was terrible. I was driving mainly on the highway and the car most of the time changing gears! In almost every moment I was in-between a gear change. It might be very economical but I found it very frustrating! And this 328hp felt more like 238. Every time you step on the gas pedal you have to WAIT!

The fun part is that I was convinced that I will buy a RWD and told all my friends that I am making a transition from FWD to RWD. Now they are making fun of me. Not only I bought a FWD but almost the same in comparison to my previous car. The only important thing is that I am happy. Nothing else matters. I am not a brand whore... I just pick what I like and what works for me.

Is there any setting the technician could adjust to make the brake pedal more aggressive?

Sorry for the bad English.

+1 on not being a brand whore like some of my friends...smh.

as for brakes, you might have to look at some upgraded pads and rotors

Concerning brakes, I feel my 2011 TSX has just as much stopping power and feel as my 2005 RL even though the RL has bigger brakes, calipers, disks, etc.

Of course the RL's calipers look cooler with the black and "Acura" spelled out. I've only laid down (i.e. really hard on the brakes) maybe twice in the RL and the pedal would pulsate. I haven't had to do that in the TSX yet (knock on wood).

I think the TSX has a master cylinder... check the fluid level and make sure it is full.
