Work Emotion CR Kai??

I'm looking at a set of Work Emotion CR Kai 18x8.5 +30 offset. I'm looking for a little help, from what I have read on hear I think they will fit but I don't want to stretch my tires or be cambered. Would finder rolling be needed? I am lowered on Eibachs. And does any one know if they will clear the RL caliper BBK? Thanks guys.

you would def need to be rolled and most likely need a minor pull in the rear.

and then neg camber is needed in the rear.... like... -1.2~ or something along those lines.. pull rear quarter panels then.

Thanks jjashaa I thought it would be close. I don't mind rolling and pulling but not a big fan of the neg camber.

Just do it, a little bit of camber doesn't kill tires, it's toe that does.
I know how you feel tho, but you will be fine with -2* of camber. My car has -.9* in front and -2.3* in the rear.

I was looking into getting the cr kai before I got my wheels. They're beautiful wheels.

HairyMonkey I have to agree with you about cr kai being beautiful. But I just picked up a set of Kosei K1 TS 17x 7 with a good set of tires for less then half of what I could have picked up the works with no tires. They are not quit as nice or 18s, but DAMN they are lite!

I do know that camber does not eat tires, it can actuly help with cornering. But I hate to see wheels on a car that just don't fit. It may look awesome from that one lower side angle for a picture but its just not for me

You definitely could have gone with RPF1's. I was thinking of getting those also, but didn't do so just because it's common.

I easily found them in 17"-18"x7"-8" for around 1k with decent tires

I have looked at the RPF1s, they actually weight 14.6 lbs the same as the K1 TS in a 17 x 7 according to tire rack. The RPF1 is 1pc. Gravity Cast w/ MAT Technology which my give a little less mass on the outer rim, but the K1 TS is 1pc. Low Pressure Cast & Shot Peened. New the K1 TS is only $40/ wheel cheaper. I picked up a set of K1 TS with a pair of ContiSportContact 2 with about 60% tread and a pair of Direzza DZ101 with 95% tread, for half of what I have found RPF1 just wheels selling for. Smoken deal had to do it plus it was local so no shipping. Loosing 8lbs per wheel really made a huge difference! I'm gonna post a new thread with pics tomorrow.

Ok, before anything. What was your price range, specs, and tire/amount of tire were you looking for?

I knew I would need tires in the near future, so I used new Conti DW for around $650, and using the new RPF1 17 x 7 for around $900 as a bench mark. With a high number of $1550 I set out looking to see what I could find used for around $1000 or less, not being set on model of wheel. I missed a set of RPF1 with non DOT autocross tire for $650 so I figured I was on the right track. I even considered some 18" but I wanted to get the weight under the 23lbs of my OEM tls wheels. So when I found a set of K1 TS being the same weight with comparable tires with lots of life still in them, I was not far from my bench mark they were locale and for a third less then what I could by the new bench marke set up.

I am familiar with the Kosei wheels and the original K1 having short life spans, they were actually designed to be a DOT race wheel and new they came with documentation stating that. The K1 TS is an evolution from that and they are a lot stronger and have not had the history of failure from impact as the K1. I probable would not have picked these out new, but I'm pleased with deal I found and will fulfill the roll they where intended for.

I have not figured out how to put large pics in a post yet but you can look in my gallery for pics.
