First of all, 8.5" widths regardless of diameter is way too wide. Hope you're not planning on dropping your ride. Good luck with the new wheels.

Wheel will extend past the fender lip which won't look good to begin with. Certain conditions will definitely rub, especially with passengers in the rear seat.

What didn't you understand from the above post ...

Doesn't matter which tire you pick because the rim is too wide for our car. You're better off finding a different rim. 19s are pretty much the limit for a 2nd gen TL without having rubbing or major camber issues.

20s on tl

first off, the 20's that i have was given to me and i have the hook-up on 20" tires. i plan on doing the 19x8 racing hart in the future, there pretty high for my budget right now, so i'll just be on 20s until income tax. then i will get the racing harts and lower it a lil.

20x8.5 with no rub

i put my 20x8.5 on friday with a 225/35 tire and i have no rub and it sits in and doesnt stck out. so you can put 20x8.5 on acura tls. it also depends on wat the offset is to determine if its gonna stick out or not.

Yea mine are 8" and they stick out. As of today they are getting replaced w/ 7.5"

You will rub your fender well in the rear. Mine did and its all stock:

Here is 8" wide:

Hope I helped

Since today I had to drive the TL to work. I probably got like 15 complements when I was parking in the garage. To me, I like the look, but sucks that I rub the rear tires.

But I am going on ahead abnd get 7.5" off sets (18*7.5)

Note: if you look rear close to the tire image, you can see where the fender well was rapeing the tires. You can see the rub mark. lol

Here is a little info that may help you. the 8.5, 8, 7.5 isnt the offset, its the rim with. Offset is a completly diferent number. ( but works in conjunction with rim with) you will want to try to find a offset of something higher than +45,or higher the better (the stock is +55)
just simply going to a 7.5 with the same rim width wont make it sit in the wheelwell

I had 19 x 8 inch rims on my car, and it didnt stick out like that at all.

Offset my friend, offset. Yours is just way too low. Also how big are those tires?? Looks like you are going off road with those things. Doesnt look like a proper plus size for a TL at all.

So to summarize, you definitely have the wrong offset for the TL, and it looks like the wrong tire size as well.

My 20's dont stick out at all. And although you hear it alot on this forum, with the right drop it does not look like a 4x4. You just need to get 20x7.5 with at least a 42 offset. You still may rub a liittle but that does not bother me as long as it does not hurt the tire.

i just try the racing c4's and so far they look pretty dam good. but without trying all four or my car being drop i couldnt tell you what it going to be made of it. 19x8.5. the tires are to big though, you talking 245/35/19. to much tire, maybe 225 will be like it. not a rim expert but hey who knows
