You will need to get an alignment done a few weeks to a month after the install, the springs need to settle and compress. The H&R Sport springs do NOT need to have a camber kit added, the H&R Race DO.. Plus the H&R Sports get me real close to scraping with my bodykit, the Race would surely scrape on driveways, parking lot entrances, etc...

Whoa, Just noticed you are thinking about the OE Sport springs... I would steer away from them in my opinion, they are not enough of a drop for anyone to noitce but you and your wallet.. It looks like you've got something in the trunk... doesn't look lkke you've lowered your car..
Plus if you decide to get low pro tires and rims theOE sport springs look like stock ride height.. look at pics before you purchase.. I , along with many many members here, would reccomend getting the H&R Sport ( 50103) springs to install on ANY 2ng gen TL . H&R has a different number for the 99TL then the 00-03 TL when we all know it's the same car.. They just adjusted accord springs for the 99TL, they designed new ones for the 00-03 TL but they still reccomend the other part number for the 99 models.

You will need an alignment like he said, you will minor camber issues. I rode on mine for 6 months w/o a camber kit and saw minor tire wear on the outside of each tire. It depends how anal you are about tires.

Or did you mean the Sport Springs with 1.75/1.5 drop?

So I guess with the 51858 you get slight wear and could use the camber kit.... so if you get the 51858-55 you should be fine. Those are the ones that I plan on getting myself as well.

I have 50103 riding on stock shocks, no camber kit. Couldn't be happier with the drop i have 2 fingers all around with 225/40 tires. Have a bit of wear on the tires though on the inside. Riding on them for 5 months so far.

I wouldn't dismiss the H&R OE springs ... some people have a steep driveway yet don't want the 4x4 look of a stock TL. It's highly unlikely that you'll need a camber kit with these springs. But, as most have described above, do a wheel alignment at least a couple weeks after installation (ie all springs to settle) to minimize uneven tire wear.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I'm confused:
What's the diff between 51858 and 50103?
Is this a misprint: H&R Sport 51858: 1.5" / 1.7" F/R - the rear is lower than the front?

the 51858 was designed for the accord and since the TL and accord was the same H&R decided there was no need for redesigning springs for the TL, however some have experience 'sagging' in the rear with the 51858 model becuase the TL is slightly heavier than the accord. So H&R release a fix (i think) and named it 50103 model so the drop is even throughout all 4 wheels.

If you kit your car and your area is rough H&R OE is probably the way to go. That's what I'm thinking anyway. I don't have anything super steep to traverse, but I do not want to worry about all kinds of speeds bumps and all that jazz. But if you get the OE with the 1 inch after they settle a camber kit shouldn't be necessary at all. *shrug*

Nice, thanks for all of your opinions guys!
I will keep my eyes peeled for these OE Sports on the black market, I'm in no rush to get it dropped, if there are none in the black market, I will have to buy it brand new.
Anyone know where is the cheapest place to get these springs?

Just bought mine Monday from racinglabs.com. They have a 5% coupon (banner on the site), which made it $209 shipped to Ohio. That was the best price I could find after a pretty good search.

That SSM is mine. Yup, those are OE Sports and I measured before and after and got 1"F/.75"R. No camber kit necessary with these. When I had my alignment done after allowing the springs to settle, my rear camber was -0.9°L/-0.8°R (within +/-1° limit). My SZ50 tires have >40K miles on them with 1 rotation and they still look new. I'm satisfied with the look and ride.

Oh one more question how come every site I visit where they sell the H&R OE Sport 51858-55, it says:
Applications
* Acura TL V6 1999-01
* Honda Accord 2/4 door / V6 1998-02
Applications
* 1998-2002 HONDA ACCORD
* 1999-2001 ACURA TL
How come there are no 02-03 TLs? Is this a concern If I am buying these springs? Im gonna get them very soon.

dont know why 02-03 isnt listed but they will fit just fine (the cars are all the same)
As for your shock question??? The springs wont cause them to wear out any faster than they normally would. Now how many miles you have on them currently and how long they last??

Thanks for the reply.
How often do you change springs/shocks?
I've heard that riding on H&R Sport springs (1.5" drop) would give you a max. 6 months out of the stock shocks before they go. I figured that if I get a 1" drop, it would put a little more stress on the stock shocks than they normally would with stock springs.
Currently I have 134,XXXKM on my TL, is it almost time to change springs shocks?
