help! uneven drop

i lowerred my 01 TL w/ comptech springs like 3 months ago. The front has about 1 finger gap on both sides. but the rear driver side has 3 fingers gap and the passenger side has 2 fingers gap. any idea why this is happening. My rear just looks bone stock from the driver's side.

comptech springs suck. (sorry) has it always been this way? Bad or worn out strut or busted spring would cause that

Get H&Rs. They are much better than Comptechs.

yeah, there was a thread about this a couple times. and yes it does happen to you when you lower your car. some of our cars dont seem to drop evenly for some reason. but i've never heard of that kind of difference...3 in the rear seems like a lot. did you lower it, or did someone else do it? cause maybe the spring isnt set right on the shock. but i remember people with H&R that have had the same problem. its just a slight difference that shouldnt hurt anything. good luck.

That'll happen. H&R Sport has a slightly more aggressive drop in the rear than Comptech. As such, my car when it had H&R Sport springs had a 2-finger gap in the rear, but slightly higher on one side.

I knew the springs were of the exact same height, so it's gotta be something in the chassis. Unless you have a blown shock or a busted spring, this problem is not limited to your car.

Are there any fixes for the uneven drop? I've been thinking about getting the H&R Sports unless there is something better?

Is the difference in the rear with the H&Rs really noticeable?

On my car, no it really wasn't. It was only when my anality kicked in and I measured the wheel gaps on even ground and I noticed it was slightly uneven. Until then, I didn't visually notice it.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but this is retarded. I just had my H&R Sports put on and like i've read through a bunch of threads, my rear right side is about one finger lower than the rear left side. Meh, how is it that I never read of this before I bought the springs. This is gonna bug me for the longest time until I forget about it.

If all else fails, put the OEM springs back on. That would put your mind to rest.

I don't get it, even with the H-Tiens, I have a 3 finger gap in the front and two in the rear. I should get a different set of springs for the front to hopefully make them even with the rear

That's normal for the H-tech's.

Well I looked at it today from a different perspective, and its barely noticeable. Its like a tight 1 figer gap for the rear right and a loose 1 finger gap for the rear left. Oh well

i had something similar on my 02 tl-s with eibach prokits. one side of the rear was lower than the other. the fix was to alter the side that was higher. i think they put in an appropriately tall hollow spacer tube above the upper mounting cap. i think between items #1 and 16 with an additional washer under the nut. doing so compressed the springs more on that side and it was lowered to the same level as the other. a concern maybe overextending the center rod where it will cause the shock to leak oil so the height difference would have to be very minor.
