H&R OE vs TEIN Luxury Master HighTech
I almost ordered the H&R OE for my 99 TL but just find out from other posts that they will sag in the rear because it is desgined for the Accord.
Does anyone installed the TEIN Luxury Master HighTech Springs? I wonder if they will be better than the H&R.
Please comment. Greatly appreciated your advise!!

I'm most likely gonna go Tein High.Tech springs when I replace my rusty Comptech springs. No experience with H&R springs but everyone I know like them. The OE's would have been my 2nd choice if I couldn't get the Teins.

I've had both on my car. First the OE, then the Tein High Tech Springs. Get the Teins. The OE's barely lower the car, which is fine if you have 18's. But I downgraded to 17s and the drop wasnt enough. The teins are much nicer.

I just looked up these tein high tech springs... and htey drop 1.5 and 1.0... the comptechs i have are 1.25 and 1.0... which means the Tein is more of a drop on the front than the comptechs... im looking to swap out the comptechs and get something with LESS of a drop... meaning like 1.0 in the front and.75 in the back... is that possible?? what springs are good.. CUZ like you said, in NYC its hard and i drive to the city a lot... soo i want less of a drop than the comptechs... Any opinions???
thanx

Here is a FAQ I made a while back:
H&R OE Springs
Drop: 1" F/1.25" R
Comfort: Near Stock
Additional Equipment: None
Comments: Very Subtle Drop without the need for a camber kit or new shocks.(Stock Shocks should last a while with these springs)
H&R Sport Springs
Drop: 1.75"F/1.5"R
Comfort: Harsher than Stock
Additional Equipment: Camber Kit may be required. Stock Shocks should last approx. half their lifespan on this drop.(~45kmiles)
Comments: Even Drop.
H&R Race Springs
Drop: 2.2"F/1.75"R
Comfort: Harsh
Additional Equipment: Camber Kit will be required. Stock Shocks will not last very long with this low of a drop.
Comments: Raked' looked, in other words, the front is lower than the rear.
Comptech Springs
Drop: 1.75"F/1.5"R
Comfort: Harsher than Stock
Additional Equipment: Camber Kit may be required. Stock Shocks should last approx. half their lifespan on this drop.(~45kmiles)
Comments: Raked' looked, in other words, the front is lower than the rear.
Eibach Pro-Kit Springs
Drop: 2.1"F/1.6"R
Comfort: Harsher than Stock
Additional Equipment: Camber Kit may be required. Stock Shocks should last approx. half their lifespan on this drop.(~45kmiles)
Comments: N/A
Eibach Sportline Springs
Drop: 2.6"F/2.3"R
Comfort: Harsh
Additional Equipment: Camber Kit will be required. Stock Shocks will not last very long with this low of a drop.

I know for a fact that the Tein H-Tech Luxury Springs drop the TL 1.3 in the front and 1.2 in the back. If you want about an inch drop all around, go with the H&R OE springs. But IMO, they aren't worth it with 17's. With 18's they look alright. I say either stick with the Comptechs or go with the Tein H-Tech Luxury Springs. Don't confuse these with the Tein S-Tech Springs. Those springs lower the car even more.

Trust me, I know.....I used to have the OE springs before I switched to the TEins.
sounds good to me... what would you suggest for someone on the oem 16" rims from the 00 tl??? tein or h&r OE?? mind you i live in NY and travel to NYC a lot... right now im on comptechs and thinkin about switchin over the summer

Do you have a bodykit? If not, I say stick with the Comptechs. If you do have a bodykit, either stick with the Comptechs or go with the Teins H-Tech Springs. THe OE springs are not worth it with only 16's. If it's the ride comfort that is bothering you, you may want to change your shocks if you havent already done so. I have the Tein Springs and Tokico Blue HP shocks setup and the ride is pretty comfortable. Hope I helped answering your question.

Do you have a 2 finger gap all around with the Tein H-Tech springs? I just purchased H&R sports and I live in Brooklyn, but I'm thinking that the drop probably might be too low for these roads out here. I'm planning on maybe going w/19's if I can get a good price, if not then I'm going with 18's. I'm just here thinking that I might sell the h&R sports and go with the Tein H-Tech springs to be safe. I also got the Tokico Hp blues.

but if the tein Htech drop is ALMOst the same as the comptech...dont you thinki i should go with the H&R OE, with a 1" drop all around.... giving me the opportunity to get bigger rims in the future, and still holding it safe in NY?

But getting bigger rims in NYC an oxymoron? I've driven there plenty of times ... and during this time of year ... potholes everywhere (only Detroit is worse that I've experienced). But if you go with a more subtle drop (ie not as low as Comptech) ... then with OEM rims ... won't look like you did anything (but will not scrape).
Guess you have to take the good with the bad.

i had the OE's in Connecticut on my 00TL and i liked them , i think im gonna get a set for my 02Type-s i dont want a drop lower than an in im on the east with a lip kit . BTW whoevers worried about the drop and what size rims to get , its not the drop thats really gonna affect the rims a whole lot , its the bumps and pot holes that are gonna bend them up like a coke can
