What's your budget?

Go with MAX performance Summer tires, not "UHP" or "Ultra High Performance" tires.

They've got to be MAX performance, and they've got to be SUMMER tires.

No all season tires will do as well in launching.

Go with

1. Michelin Pilot Sport
2. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3

Those two are my favorite.

Nitto NT05's are good, too.

But, since you're in Canada, max performance Summer tires might not be a good idea?

You must think we're all tire guru's who can tell the tire by tread design. It would help if you posted the make/model of the tire.

(Although I know it's a Yokohama Advan A048)

The BEST tires for a good launch are drag radials. Once they're heated up, they are the grippiest tires you can find. But, you're not going to be able to run those, and I don't know if running Summer tires is a good idea for you in Canada.

^agreed. if i recall, nitto had a set of "all seasons" with a pretty soft tread that supposedly grip pretty well.

From tirerack.com, it seems that the Goodyear Eagle GT tires are good, especially since they are All-Season. I got them just cause they are relatively cheap for a better performance tire. Plus they came with a 50k guarantee.

no snow in canada during the winter?

I use these in the summer as they are not that pricey and they grip pretty good wet or dry. they wear a little quick, but that's to be expected with softer compounds.
