All new struts.... what is the problem?

Hey All. After 126,000 miles on my 2003 TL-S, I had all the struts replaced because of the typical loose sounds coming from my struts over any type of bump on the road. The struts were all leaking and it was time to have them replaced.

Well, after waiting all day to get my car back, the struts were replaced and I picked up my car. On my drive home, I again noticed that loose sounding suspension sound from the front end, but now it was Lounder and more noticeable than before!!!

I brought it back to the place that replaced my struts and brought them on a drive. They told me the sound had nothing to do with my struts. When I asked them why it is now more noticeable and lounder than before, they said because of the dissasembly and reassembly of the front suspension, that this was a possibility, with my kind of mileage. They said that they would look at my front end to see what the loose, bouncy suspension sound is but I wanted to see if anyone has any idea of what to look for, based on my lame explanation!!

Thanks!

endlink bushings. That's what my sound was when i put my new springs/struts in. Is it makin' a "kalunk" type of sound?

Yeah, that would basically summarize it.... a "kalunk" type of sound over bumps. Thanks!! I'll have them check out the endlink bushings........

the rubber in the top hats is most likely worn and the new chocks and the firmer dam rates is causing more play in them. youneed to get those upper parts replaced at teh same time

I'm thinking this is my problem to. However I haven't replaced my shocks/struts yet (have them sitting in the garage). I think at the same time I might put back on my stock springs and sell the comptechs (have about 10k on them) due to the fact i might be giving the car to my sister.

Does anyone have a blown up diagram so I can go ahead and order all the required bushings, etc.. I am also replacing my front sway bar bushings due to clunky sounding noises (replaced the rear ones a few months back to fix squeeky noises).

Thanks!

I've yet to do struts on an 03 TL. Sometimes they look like they are leaking when they really arent.

MDX's are the only one of our cars that have strut problems.
05 RSX's make noise
and 92-93 integra's..the springs crack.

looks like you would have to remove the whole assembly.

Sorry to resurrect this 2 month old post, but I'm debating on front struts myself.

I have already replaced the endlinks and lower ball joints, it has a better feel but still seems like something rattles whenever I go over small bumps, rumblestrips and small potholes in the road or when I go over a speedbump. When going over the speedbump it doesn't make that clunk noise until the strut uncompresses (basically when it makes it over the bump). It's getting really annoying like something is loose and was thinking about getting new struts.

I have about 60K miles on my TL. I did the spring test (push down hard on fender to see if it bounces back normally) and it seemed ok and there is no fluid leaking. So now I'm lost, is it really the strut or the rubber bushings mentioned here?

fsttyms1 - How did you summize that it was the rubber bushings that needed replacing. Did you have similiar issues as I do, or was it blatantly obvious?

i could hear the noise on mine with people pushing on the car. It also may be one of the mounts. I had a bad rear causing noise also
