20x8 Offset?

I was thinking of buying those Maya rims that are on the black market, but the offset is only +45 and the rims are 20x8 with 225/35/20 tires. How bad will the rubbing be, and what could be done to prevent it, and the car will not be dropped.

I would say that the rubbing would be pretty bad.

it's not possible. your not only going to be rubbing like crazy but you might have problems with your turing radius. The tires might hit on the insides.

They will fit.. Man you all are idiots thinking 20s won't fit on TLs. They'll fit like a glove man don't listen to these haters who think their rims look good and their only 17s (lol). +45 offset will work just fine and 20x8 is the absolute max for the TL. 225/35/ZR20 will work in the Nitto nt555 tire only one available. Also you could even drop your car 2in front and 1in rear and STILL not rub. Talked to a guy who did it on Acurainspired.com look him up his name is tsxmayas and his e-mail is asainaxis@yahoo.com. He said they fit perfect with no rubbing or any problems turning, and it road better than stock. Check this CL on 20s too : http://www.cardomain.com/id/seeltypes

first of all, the rims on that CL are hideous. 2nd of all, TSXmaya has a TSX... not a TL, hence the name TSXmaya. the tsx fenders are different. they may be boigger or smaller than a TL.also, if 19x8 =45 offset rub, dont you think 20x8 +45 offset will rub? its been proven time after time that it will. although with a +45 offset on an 8 inch wide rim, you can shave the fenders and make them fit.

Wow, that CL is quite ugly.

Regardless of whether they fit or not, don't subject a beautiful TL to such hideous rims...

I'm just showing you the CL-TL can fit 20s, not showing off the rims or anything... car_lost- where the hell did you learn about rims/offsets?? Were they smoking crack cuz anything BELOW a +45 offset will rub, and the Mayas are MADE to fit on Hondas/Acuras. Call Maya, call Dales Tires in Ft. Lauderdale, whatever. The TSX if anything has a has less wheel room than a TL (it's a whole lot smaller duh)... And I meant "TSXMaya" put them on a TSX and not a TL. cubanmix - Don't listen to any of these people. If you want to spend the money on 20x8 they will fit just fine if you use the right tire (225/35/ZR20)... IF anything they MAY rub if you have 3 fatassess in the back, and if you have to you can always roll the rear fenders. EASY DIY JOB. vipvop- Noone wants to read your smartass comments.. You went through all the time to post a pic of a mach 3 razor?? Damn get a fucking life man!

i learned by reading and from other peoples expereince. where did u learn about it? better yet, do you know anything about it? yea, im gonan call dale's tires. a shop will tell you 24's fit the tl jsut so they can sell you some wheels.

like i said in my first post, they will probably rub, but if you shave the fenders, you should be ok.

p.s. take the sand out of your vagina.

Well sorry Dales tires (sells Mayas, Lowenharts, etc) isn't good enough for your cuban ass?? Get your dick out of your ass and stop talking shit to someone you don't even know. I'm only 30 min north of Ft. Lauderdale in Boca Raton, and I'd LOVE to see to you talk shit to me in real life. Go back to Cuba man. Miami doesn't need anymore spics cluttering up their city.

will it work...?

So this thread is really messed up - I wonder if anyone talking has ever actually talked with anyone who had a TL on 20s. I talked with a guy when I first joined this site who had a TL on 20s with Eibach pro-kit springs and no rubbing. He had to put spacers in the back, but he had 3 piece rims that I think were +48 offset maybe. If I recall, he said that +45 could be done, but was really cutting it close and he didnt recommend it - you'd probably have to 'roll the fenders' like you heard before, but it's not a DIY job. You'd want a shop to do that. With any rim, 19" or above, there's a good possibility you're going to have to cut the plastic tabs in the back. So it comes down to, after I did MY reserach, if you're gonna go 20s, you better be ready to put out the $$$ for 3 piece in order to get a high enough offset. Oh, also, it'll make your odometer a little off, but that's probably the least of your potential problems. I recommend 19"s and a low drop. Good luck!

i didnt say they werent good enough. if you actually read what i wrote, you'd know thats not what i said. any wheel shop will tell you whichver wheel fits just so they can make a sale. maybe there are a few (and i mean very few) out there that actually know what they are talking about and won't try to screw you over. oh, and just to make you feel better, your internet penis is bigger than mine, there you win

here it is:

20x8 +45 offset will more than likely rub. it MIGHT be fixable by rolling the fenders.
20x7.5 +45 offset would be a better fit and may not rub.

if you can get a 20x8 rim with an offset higher than +45, then go for it.

the only tire made that will fit on 20's on our cars is the nitto nt555 225/35/20.

with that tire, the overall diameter compared to stock will be off which means your speedometer will be off by a few mph.

my suggestion to you would be to do a test fit, if possible. if you can't do a test fit, then stay away from them because you wont know for sure until you get them... and by that time you'll be fucked if they dont fit.

yeah carlost....thats exactly why i decided not to do 20s...i didnt want to make a 4K purchase on sometihng that im not even sure fits, and other people who dont have that wheel on there car are sitting there telling me it will fit. so i jus stuck with 19s...

PS---4K were for a set of 20" works...i wouldnt get some cheap ass ugly wheel just cuz they make it in a 20 inch size that MIGHT fit our car..

Running that tire size will increase the overall rolling diamter by 3/4". I don't see how that can be the "right" tire size for the TL.
Face the facts, 20's are not designed for the TL, especially with the current selection of 20" tires.

even when a tire does come out that is low enough profile..it would still make no sense, cuz youd prob. be almost riding on the wheel, and bend it all the time. esp if you are thinkin about getting some cheap ass non-forged wheels like that guy was...

i have 19x8 +45 offset and no problems. 20x8 will fit but if your car is dropped or is going to be dropped you better go with 19's or smaller... also not too many tl's look good on dubs

Mods, seriously, his crap has got to stop.

I agree with most everyone on this, 20's just don't fit or look right.
