WTB: A Car Remote for my TL

Apparently I got only one Acura car remote for my TL.

I want to order/buy one more for my baby, WHERE I would get a good deal and also able to function /w my car alarm as same as mine right now w/o any complicated programing it? From Acura Dealer, it costs $160 cdn

Search Acura TL key fob on ebay. If you can program a VCR you program a key fob. The instructions come with them usually.

I will do some research about it... but also I have to think about what if I couldn't make hook up /w my car alarm sys after I bought it then only way it works is to bring it back to Acura Dealer or someone who know what to do......

Keyless entry Remote can be program by doing the following, you must program all remotes at the same time,
else the remotes not included in the programming will not work.

Make sure the codes in the back of the new remote matches your old stock remote. Some key fob may look the same
but won't work with each other. Be sure to have all Key fobs you want working with you when you do this.

1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

2 Within 1-4 seconds push the transmitter lock or the unlock button.

3 Within 1-4 seconds turn the ignition switch OFF

4 Within 1-4 seconds turn the ignition switch ON (II).

5 Within 1-4 seconds push the transmitter lock or the unlock buttin.

6. Within 1-4 seconds turn the ignition switch OFF.

7. Within 1-4 seconds turn the ignition switch ON (II).

8. Within 1-4 seconds push the transmitter lock or the unlock button.

9. Within 1-4 seconds turn the ignition switch OFF.

10. Within 1-4 seconds turn the ignition switch ON (II).

11. Within 1-4 seconds push the transmitter lock or the unlock button.

12. Confirm you can hear the sound on the door lock actuators. Within 1-4 seconds, push the transmittor lock or
onlock button again.

13. Within 10 sec, aim the transmitters whos codes you want to store at the receiver, and press the transmitter
lock or unlock buttons. Confirm that you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter
code is stores. Make sure you program all transmitters you want working within 10 seconds of each other.
Ones not included in this programming will no longer work.

14. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and pull out the key

15. Confirm proper operation with the new codes.

***make sure the serial number on the backs match.....Program at your own risk***

From the manual

fsttyms1 or anyone:

We have a remote from another 03" L which we want to program to work with our car. The S/N's on the existing and new remotes are the same. Do you mean to say that both the existing remote and the new one must be programed at the same time, or only the new one?
Also, the instructions you posted say to aim the remote at the keyless receiver unit. Where is that unit located?

I have tried several times without success to program the new remote following the instructions you posted; maybe I am not pointing the new remote at the right spot.

You will need to program both. The transmitter is in the passenger side dash. You have to follow the instructions to a T or it wont work. (its straight from the shop manual)

Yes, you follow the procedure, then when its the time you point each remote at it (step 13)

Hey! thank you for your very detail instruction, but I end up buying it from a person who works with Acura but personally sell me a remote for 50 bucks with free installation...
I was sitting next to him watching how he programed it....pretty straightforward!!

fsttyms1,
thanks for your help. You seem to know a lot about these vehicles. I'm not dense, really, but want to be100% sure about this. When you say to program both remotes (my existing one which already works just fine and a new one) do you mean 1) that I must go through all of the steps with both remotes or 2) just 1 - 12 with the new one and then 13 with both? If 1) do you go through the steps 1 - 12 with one remote and then with other, and then 13 with both, or do yo do steps 1 - 12 with both remotes at the same time?

Thanks.

fsttyms1,
Never mind.
Tried it again following steps 1 - 12 with the new remote and then step 13 with both old and new remote. It worked.
Timing sure is critical.
Thanks again.

I just received my fob from an eBay purchase. I had no difficulties programming it EXCEPT that the trunk lid button doesn't release the trunk lid. The LED lights up when pushing the button. The other three buttons work. The old fob worked fine so I doubt it is anything within the car. I'm pretty sure this used fob has a bad button or something and I have contacted the vendor from whom I purchased it. Any other possibilities to consider?
