Wow, that never happened before...
Coming home from work
Coming up to a 4-way intersection
Light turns green
I start to turn right onto next street
Having a hard time turning the wheel
Look down and the car has shut off.
Was able to limp into a parking lot. No check engine light (hooked up my ODBII scanner and got nothing too)
Took out key, tried to start it back up. Started right up. Been fine since.
No clue what that was. Any ideas?
One coincidence I thought about was that I got another reminder about the ignition switch recall on my 99. Maybe it's going bad?

Was reading about the recall. It says that the electrical contacts in the igintion switch can wear prematurely causing the engine to stall without warning.
What a weird coincidence that I got the card in the mail the same day I had the problem. Who da thunk it?

Yeah the two days before the replacement of my ignition switch the car died a good 30-40 times. i got stuck for 45 minutes at a light trying to restart and keep my car running. luckily it was 3 am. it only took about hour when they replaced mine and i got to drive an MDX which was pretty nice

Happened again this morning. This time I was on 95S in Joisey and the car died while I was doing 80 in the middle lane.
Was able to get over to the shoulder.
Going in for service on Tuesday.

Yeah my old 99 conked out on me on the freeway once. the key was finicky, and if I hit a bump, or accidently brushed up against the key, it would cut off. Also, instead of turning the key to start it, and releasing it, I would have to release the key very slowly from the start position otherwise when it sprang back into position 2 it would stop the engine. After I got the ignition switch replaced at no cost, it was totally fine.

No it's definitely the ignition switch. It'll be fixed next week.
