is your car salvage title? other than that acura should cover you, an 01 is still under or at the 7 year+9 month since date sold warranty

how do you know the other trans wont die in a month---

acura is not the used car lot- totally different warranty
call 1-800-382-2238 x5 monday-thats acura care
or register here and look in recall section- need VIN for both of those
recall section will detail your cars exact warranty on trans
http://owners.acura.com/registration...erstepone.aspx
some VINS get an odometer error extension to 114.5 miles and if not- you can still get a deal with acura where you are now
As long as its not salvage- its ok

You could probably get Acura to cover 50% of the repair. Your portion of the bill would probably be about 2k with a 3/36 warranty.

That's a much better idea than to buy an used transmission. These transmissions can fail at anytime after 50k, so it's just too great of a risk IMO.
