Whine Noise In 1st and 2nd Gear

I recently had problems with my transmission. I have recently got it fixed at a local Transmission shop. My only complaint is I have a very low whining noise happening in first and second gear. As soon at it hits third gear the whining noise goes away. I have searched the forum and I have heard wheel bearing or transmission bearing could be the culprit. A recent stop at the dealer suggested it could be a transmission bearing. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? If it is the transmission bearing could this be a serious problem? Thanks for any help in advance.

I actually want to take it to another Transmisson shop the guy took to long to repair the problem, I was just looking for what people have expereinced and maybe get some insight before I go to another transmission shop. The original shop fixed it pretty well where it shift good except offcourse in 1st and 2nd, where there is a slight hesitation and the whinning noise. I wish i just bough another transmission.

mine whines also, but its not loud at all, i removed my intake resonator, and after like 2krpm it goes away..

i would say if its extremely loud, get it checkedout, but if it gradually fades away in 1, or 2nd then personally iwouldnt worry..

Arrow Official Recall

I think there's a known problem with the transmissions in 2nd gen. TL's between the first and second gear. It's a manufacturing defect I think, and I'm pretty sure that there was a recall.

Maybe you should take a look at acura TL recall info for your car's year. I had my transmission replaced already 3 years ago and it was covered under warranty.
