Unhappy Security problems (car alarm)

******This is my first thread here, so If I am in the wrong place, please guide me in the right direciton, so it would make our lifes easier******

I have 2001 TL. My alarm is not going off when I lock the car. You know when you press "lock" button on your remote, your car suppose to honk to let you know security is set in place. I can hear the locking device locking my car but nothing is going off....any Ideas why it might be?

PS. I have called Acura stealer-ship (I know they are out for money. I have had previous bad experience with my dealer...good think I didn't buy my car there.) They've said bring it in so they can look at it for $98. I would rather ask you guys. Oh and one of the doors on my car has been replaced and after that, my security stop going off when I luck my car.

Any ideas, please post, I would like to hear from everyone.
Thank you.

Are you pressing the button twice? Is the alarm actually arming is the next thing. Leave the window down, use the remote to lock the doors, wait 30 sec or so then lift up on the door lock and open the door. The alarm should go off. Does it?

As fsttyms1 wrote ^, to hear the beep that tells you the alarm is set, you have to press the arm button twice. If you press it just once, the alarm is set, but you won't hear the beep. If you press the arm button a second time within 5 seconds, you should hear a beep.
