Where to buy HID bulbs? Denver help?

2000 Acura TL. We are thinking the bulbs need replaced and would like recommendations on a good source with fast shipping. Is it important to use Sylvania replacements? Have looked at Plasma Garage but not sure of their bulb brand or reliability. We are only interested in replacement not changing color or anything like that. Also, while I'm at it: Is there anyone in the Denver area who could help with the bulb change out or direct us to someone who wouldn't charge an arm and a leg? I am new to group so I don't think I can get private messages yet. Thanks.

you can access the diy list here
https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/new-official-2nd-gen-tl-diy-thread-706083/
fries is in denver, maybe he can help
keep posting to gain numbers to enable PM

4300k was stock color, many like 5000k for slightly more blue to pick out reflecto paint in lane markings and road signs

ck our Vendor list at top of page hidextra and hidconcepts come to mind
I looked at 'extras site recently- amazing low price on pair of bulbs
otherwise expect 100 + for a pair,,dealer gets nearly 200 per!

if you had any moisture inside the headlight lens--get a complete kit with new waterproof ballast, ignitor and bulbs
under 100$!! at hidextra for both sides

that moisture drips down and out-directly onto the ballast...
which is in no way water proof or resistant

also need to fix the headlight seal prob,,see diy list for that too

We would take it on ourselves but my husband has had a neck injury which has residual effects in his fingers on one hand and it is hard for him to do the things he used to.

I don't think the problem is moisture. Original bulbs in a 2000. They both come on -- dimly -- and pinky/orangy ish tint. Then the passenger side will go off and the driver side will brighten up.

Would a former Honda / current BMW mechanic know how to do this? We know of a guy we may ask to help.

Otherwise I'm open to suggestions. Maybe we can strap on a really large flashlight with really good tape. It is keeping the high school daughter home after dark unless friends come to get her.

actually at least for the 2003's the ballest was redesigned to try and help prevent that from happening, they put a black rubber plug around the white electrical plug, to help stop any small moisture from getting in

also OP you say Sylvania bulbs only...
Philip bulbs are another good brand, and another OEM brand (and they are the only two brands for OEM quality)

also OP, where you located in denver..., cause i am up[ north

also would you happen to have a WDP (white) TL, and live up near federal heights....

i see one up there with the headlights having issues, on my way to work a couple of days a week

No that is not me. Ours is the champagne beige color and generally lives around the Littleton/Southwest Plaza/Columbine area. (Although daughter wants to take it downtown to Leela's I'm sure - what is it with that place?)

This is really the first problem we've had with it -- and it seems to hopefully be an annoying maintenance issue of changing bulbs (we hope). At least we'd like to verify that first before getting into the other stuff. It seems like any of the repair places we talked to want to just opt for total replacement of the entire unit "to make sure."

I am having issues with yahoo. So Gmail would work. Titian3@gmail.com

NO it does basically have the same issues, the NEW ballest that i bought was of an updated design, with that rubber grommet (my original ones did/do not have it)

it's just a matter of swapping some bulbs/parts around hopefully, to figure out exactly what part is bad (it's harder because you can't really test each part seperate)

but yes that is not a cheap proposition to replace everything up there, $1000+ easily....

also i will send you an email from my email
