Wheel Lug Nut and Stud
Wheel Lug Nut and Stud
I searched on the forum but didn't find much info on this. It seems my right front wheel is missing a lug nut and the stud as well. I called the dealer to get an idea how much it would be to have a stud and a lug put on, they said $200 + parts. He said something about a bearing needing to come off. Is this true? Or can i just buy the part from Acura and get it done at any tire shop? The car is a 2000 TL.
Thanks,
Thanks,
For my 2005, I got a free stud at Firestone but you should go to your local auto shop and ask them. Autozone told me studs for my car cost like $2.
To replace it, you have to remove your caliper etc. Firestone quoted $50 for the labor but I'm just gonna do it myself.
Not sure about the lug nut though...

The correct way to do it would be to remove the wheel hub, but some people have installed them this way:

AMGala, thanks for the link to the DIY. I called Sears and they said the would charge $46. Took it over, they did it in less than an hour. Normally I would have attempted it myself, but I needed to get it done fast since they failed me on state inspection for it.
