What Rotors??
Hey guys....
Well my original stock rotors are shot!!!
surprise surprise..
I had them resurfaced twice since I got the car and I am just tired of listening to the car brake with warped rotors.
What would you guys recommend as far as mid range RELIABLE rotors..
I really dont want to drop more than $200 for a set of front rotors...
(wedding coming up...I know I know...LOL)....
I am a little leary of buying off of ebay...
Thanks

Brembo blanks from www.tirerack.com
I am amazed you turned the rotors twice!!! Are they even still above minimum thickness?
Since you have heat and cooling issue which are the main cause of warpage,
right after improper lug tightening- I would upgrade to the following:
For way better braking get RacingBrake brand rotors- wont have to resurface in 2 sets of pads and have hi-tech curved cooling inner vanes which make them miles ahead of other brands
www.racingbrake.com
Pads make a huge differance- cheap pads are cheap for a reason and you're new wife and her safety should be PRICELESS to you-
Hawk HPS about 100 bucks front and rears 60
www.hawkperformance.com for tech info
Marcus at MrHeelToe can set you up with 2 front rotors and the Hawk pads for $306 to your door! See his post in Off Topic - Sponsored Sales
About lug torque: It has been discussed in other area- but as a reminder I saw SPEED tv this weekend on their TruckU show- they were very explicit in saying if the lugs are put on wrong- torque-procedure etc, they have just RUINED a set of perfect rotors!!

Rotora slotted rotors run 160 for front pair and 140 for rear pair from www.modacar.com. Thats what I'm ordering. I already ordered my AEM front and rear pads.

No shit, Swamp? That's odd....I've been ordering from tirerack for years, and I always get my items in just a few days....usually less than a week.

Brembo blanks warp just like the stock rotors. It may take longer but you'll warp them for sure. Especially if you upgrade your pads.
Spend a little more coin and get the Rotora slotted rotors and support the site and it's vendors by ordering from Excelerate. He's got the best pricing anyways.

RacingBrake rotors from MrHeelToe
Ordered/paid on sunday
He ordered monday
They were on the UPS truck Tuesday
Arrived from NJ to Ca the next tuesday during huge country wide snowstorms
Installed Wednesday
Bedded in properly and some get used to them miles
Sunday - mental case, left foot brake right foot gas thru mountains with no fade
the technology and metal used blow away everything else today
www.racingbrake.com for details on the unique (patented) -upgraded for our cars- curved inner cooling vanes that extract hot air from the rotor hub and expel at high speed on the outer edge. The ultra in keeping temps even across the rotor surface and low in general

I just installed greenstuffs on my TL about 6 weeks ago...So far they've been fairly solid. I would rate them 7 out of 10. They're still pretty dusty...which is strange.
