What could be the problem?

Could someone point me in the right direction of these symptoms.
When the engine is cold and I start my car and put it in reverse it feels like it is
going to shut off. When I put it in drive and drive a few 100 ft and stop it really
feels like it wants to shut off. Once it warms it's ok.

I just had my valves adjusted about a month ago. Would that have anything to do with it? Is there a such thing as valve over adjustment?

Also the dealer told me that my egr port was clogged and asked me if I wanted them to unclog it since they already had the manifold off. He said it would cost $92.00 to unclog it. I told him that that was not possible because I cleaned it myself about 6 months ago. He said did you do a reset. I told him no the check engine light went off so I figured it was ok. I told him not to do that repair. Because in my mind I was going to take off the manifold and do it myself. So when I go to pick my car up and pay for it; he said that my egr port was clogged with the pipe kit that had been put on previously (a year ago) and they just took out the pipe. There was no charge. Would that have anything to do with my car wanting to shut off when it's cold?

I have a 1999 3.2 acura tl.

It could be your iac. it could be your EGR ports. take the top cover off. If they had the IM off why didnt you ask to see the clogged port. Always reset teh ECU after fixing the problem. Try resetting the ecu

I was at work when they had the IM off.

So are you saying that when they removed the pipe out of the egr port that that
could be why the car feels like it wants to shut off?

What is the function of the IAC?

I have an 02 TL that has the very same symptoms. How did changing the front motor mount fix your cold start/rough idle problem? What or who lead you to believe that this could fix the problem or did I somehow miss the critical part of this thread?

I love Dealer Rip off stories: I called the dealer when my 99 TL's EGR port was clogged. It was one month outta the recall period and they said on the phone there would be no charge. So I drive 15 miles to the dealer to drop off the car. They kindly inform me that since it was a month past recall period (I think it was 7 or 8 years) that they would have to charge me $550.00 to clean the port.
I kindly TOLD off the service writer/scolded him for telling me on the phone that it would be covered. Said give me the keys and left the Wonderful Acura =Stealership. I went to the auto parts store, bought 3 cans of Throttle Body cleaner for $12 bucks and cleaned it myself in 2 hours time.
They lost my trust and business forever! It's a 1 and 1/2 hour job at best if you know what your doing to clean the port. What a rip off that would have been!
