weird problem with my brakes

i started noticing a light squeak coming from my rear passenger wheel well but i didn't take it too seriously.. when i drove the car today, i seen that same wheel covered in what looks to be rusty brake dust. my rim looks orange right now because it's so bad. this is just the pass. side rear that has the problem.

does anyone know what it could possibly be? fyi, i have racing brake et300 pads and stoptech rotors in the rears and i had it installed last summer.

does the squeel only come on from braking or all times? id say jack up that side, and see if the caliper is stuck by rotating the wheel, and check pad life while ur at it. could be seized

it's a light squeal like something is against the rotor.. i think it's at all times but i only hear it when i'm parking or coasting because of road noise, exhaust, etc..

seized is what i'm thinking.. i'll try what you said and see how it goes.. thanks man

I just had this problem last week. My wife was driving the car, and it started to squeal. (Luckily she only drove the car like that for about a mile before she got home) I put the car in the air, and found that with the brakes (and parking brake) off- the rear driver's side wheel was difficult to rotate. It takes about 4 minutes to get the wheel and caliper off. I found that the caliper piston was seized, and it was down to the backing plate- so I replaced the calipers and pads on the rear (the rotors were not damaged, luckily)

Sounds like a frozen caliper.

Did you flush out the old fluid and replace?

I was in a bit of a hurry, so I forgot to mention that I used a turkey baster to remove most of the brake fluid from the reservoir, and I filled it with new fluid before bleeding the brakes, so as to replace all of the old fluid with new. Thanks for caring!

Did you see new, clean fluid exiting the bleeder? If not then old fluid is probl. still present in the system.
