Help! My SRS light is on! I have a 2002 TL type S, and last weekend I left the sunroof open when I went into a store, and needless to say it rained while I was in there. Things got a little wet, but not too bad- just in the rear floor area. Yesterday my SRS light came on, and I was wondering where the airbag module is located??? Is it possible that it could have gotton wet???

I believe the sensor is located on outside bottom of the seat and you may have got it wet. After awhile it should have dried up - may have some rust build up under you seats.

 

What About Transmission Coolers? Anyone Installed One?

It is possible that you may have gotten your cell phone too close to the sensor in the passenger seat. That will trigger the light and turn off your SRS. It has happened to me several times thanks to my daughter. My service rep suggests that you put it in the center console under the radio. It is further away from that sensor. I have started having my daughter put it up on the sun visor. BTW, there is a recall on the sensor. It is possible that your sensor is bad. Get it checked out at the dealer ASAP. Or your cell phone triggered it. Either way, when you take it in to get serviced, tell them about it. When it happened to me, they reset it (not a bad sensor). They told me that the code that came up was triggered by a cell phone.
