I have a 99 2.3 Cl and the engine light kept coming on. I took it into the dealer and they put it on the computer and diagnosed a leak in the number 1 cylinder. A total valve job is required at a cost of over $1600 Canadian. Has anyone experienced the same problem? and/or is there an alternative? Please Help as I don't have $ 1600 but I love the car.

How about picking up a used head for a fraction of that cost and having that put on instead
