Transmission options 2003 TL Type S

Brand new to these forums and see some have swapped out accord or odyssey transmissions. Can some one tell me what options I have for my 2003 TL type s?

Some people have swapped it out with a 06 accord transmission and had great success. I tried to swap it out too with an 06 accord tranny but the transmission speed sensor wouldn't bolt up to it so I had to stick with a 02 TL tranny. It's shifting like butter but the swap can be done with little to no modification.

Get an 06-07 Honda accord v6 transmission. Try to get one with low miles and all you have to do is swap out the entire oil cooler warmer assembly, range switch, and the small 3&4 gear pressure switch harness.

Man you should have kept the accord transmission you just delete that speed sensor by looping the power steering rack with a rubber hose.

I'm guessing its the rubber hose in a U shape pretty much dead center. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also anyone can do this with the auto for a firmer steering feel.

Yep anybody can do it but you have to do it when swapping the transmission with a different model than ours. There is not a spot on the new transmission for the power steering speed sensor. I have driven with mine like that for 7,000 miles and I love the way it feels.

Yeah, the picture is from the front of the car and it is the U shapped hose. Its a little trick because there is a bit of difference in the two pipe diameters. But I found a flexable hose with an internal diameter roughly the size of the smaller pipe, and then worked it around the bigger one. Just make sure you have good hose clamps .

I do like the feel of the steering the way it is now. It doesn't feel a lot different but its more firm at slow speeds.

I have driven mine like that for 200k miles. I love the way it feels. Much more weighted and better feel and feedback.
