I just bought a 99 3.2 TL 2 weeks ago. I am so glad to know i am in the same boat as many of you. What is with the Tranny on these cars? Consumer report pointed it out as the one weak point but i thought at 163,000 km i would be fine. Now the engine light is on, dealer diagnosis brought up a code stating diff failure in the tranny. Lagging and wierd downshifts are apparent when cold. Luckily i have Global Warranty or i would be hooped. Any canadians out there with the same car same problem? Please tell me how much the work cost was.. parts and Labor. Thanks

 

im not in canada but its roughly $3000 usd, but some(including me) where cut a break and not charged as much because we werent that far outa warenty. check out these threads. and the search feature comes in handy. oh and welcome to the forums

well im waiting to get my transmission done pickin it up monday. luckly i m covered. if i had to pay it would be around $3500 parts and labour.
