Transferring Extended Warranty

I bought my 03 TL-S back in April 06. The previous owner purchased the 7yr/100k extended warranty from Acura. I assumed this warranty transferred with the vehicle. The vehicle now has 68k miles and the dreaded transmission slipping issue. I called up Acura and they told me the warranty has to be transferred within 15 days of date of sale! Do I have ANY options? I've called up 2 Acura dealerships and told them of my transmission troubles, and of course, my car isn't in the VIN window. I don't have $4k to fix the transmission in this car.

Anybody have some insight as to what my options might be?

Extended Warranty, they are so tricky on everything to avoid covering anything, and make all excuses. Chances you could get gesture warranty cover, Tom will help you, but try to contact the previous owner if possible, and he can help you too. It is rediculous ext. warranty don't cover the problem, it is clearly the warranty is purchased for that specific car. Good Luck.

Call back and speak to someone else, maybe higher up, be nice. The idea you need to transfer the warranty is silliness. The car is covered not the person. Tell them how much you love your Acura.

Be nice.
