Tranny symptoms
Dont wanna sound like a broken record it seems like everyones whining about their tranny. but......... My 2003 TLS Has 94000 on it. I am the second owner, the tranny was replaced when the first owner had it. I dont rememebr off hand if it was replaced after feb 2005 but i think the first tranny failed around 50000. I dont have the service records with me, im out of state. The tranny seems fine, the only time it acts up is under nearly WOT. Its slips at shifts 1-2 and 2-3 only, and ONLY when i have the pedal down quite a bit. During normal driving usually it shifts smooth, and at when im really pushing it, if i let off on the pedal a bit before it shifts it makes it smooth too. Does this sound like the begining of the end??? Im not sure if im covered with the tranny warrenty but i doubt it. However i do have an extended warrenty for the nest 40K miles.

You can find out immediately if your TL is covered by the 7 year/100,000 mile warranty by registering your car with Acura.com. You can also call Acura toll free.
If your TL is covered I would bring it in to have the transmission checked out. Even if they say it's OK, you might have more leverage in getting post 100,000 miles coverage later on.

go to the owner experience-customer care section at acura.com and that is the registration. You enter your vin number and it tells you about anything that may need attention. You also need to CALL the 800 number and ask for a records check and new owner update info, they know things the computer doesn't. They will also document your complaint of trans trouble so if you need help later you are already on record.
Now assuming you have the normal and purchased extended warranty- get it to the dealer right away.
Slipping is bad and should be easy for them to duplicate. It can help to write a description of the exact problems and if there is an freeway on ramp near the dealer you know it does it on- leave that in the car for the technician. The repair order they get never describes what you said to the service writer.
