Hi everyone, i have a 2000 acura tl. i'm going to explain from beginning to end. I met up with a buddy of mine, stupid of me we raced a quarter mile everything sounded and looked fine. 2 stops before my house i pressed half way to the throttle and then out of nowhere big grinding noise start coming out. my car stops then i press on the throttle car doesnt go forward. No throttle response. No D5 light flashing no wierd lights. when the car is on and i put it on D5 and then try to put on park it doesnt pass neutral its like jammed. when the car is turned off it goes back to park. I went to try it again today and on D5 its making this clinging noise every 3 seconds.

 

get underneath and look for dangling part
open hood remove engine cover- ck for anything odd looking there

 

It turned out to be the right side axle that attaches or reunites to the tranny. It was broken off. 90$ repair
